Question about Compaq UPS T2200 XR UPS System

Need to dispose of UPS

I have a Compaq 2200i UPS which is defunct.

It is far too heavy to move as it is, so I wish to dismantle it into pieces to dispose of separately.

How do I do this? Are there any dangers in doing this and if so how can I avoid them?

Thanks.

If you still have it(!) and can remove the PCB I'd be interested in grabbing it for spares for my (also defunct) PRR 2200i :)

As long as you dont try to open the batteries and make sure that all power is disconnected you should be fine.

dont touch any boards inside until you disconnect the batteries. as well as mains. remember that a ups can create 110-120v AC from the batteries. which is why i am saying that.

Compaq Pro UPS 500 UPS System - light on far left indicator is blinking and there is a constant clicking noise (that is driving me crazy!!!) I would guess there is a battery in the unit that needs...

Maybe the battery, but I think you have a serious over and under voltage issue that causing the AVR to click on and off again.

May I suggest a PMM117 power guard as a tool to monitor the power. If the voltage drops, current rises, it switchs of the power....once. Not like on and off/ on and off/ you loose 50 watts everytime that happens.

Otherwise a $30.00 battery plus shipping I can help you with.

I have a UPS DELTEC, Model PRR 2200i. I want to know the battery voltage, is it 24 volt or 48 volt?

Sir, just open the ups, and you can see the battery inside. after you open, pull out the battery, then look for the voltage rating, it is located on the battery itself

Good luck,
