Question about Kenmore Washing Machines
My washing machine ( Kenmore model # 110. 24422300 )spins very fast in the spin cycle but does not pump the water out. what could be the problem? Is there a pump in there?
Check the drain pump and drain hoses. The drain pump is located in front of the motor. To access it, remove the end caps from the console. Remove the 2 screw holding the console to the cabinet. Pull the bottom of the console toward you slightly and flip the console up. Unplug the lid switch molex connector. Inserting a flat screwdriver from the top and pushing back, remove the brass clips on each side. Open the lid. Holding the inside of the cabinet, tilt it toward you and remove it from the base. This will give you access to everything including the drain pump and the drain hoses. Try to remove as much water as possible from the inside since it will
all come out when you remove the drain hoses from the pump (hopefully you are near a drain
in the floor). Remove the hose clamps and check the hoses and pump for any obstructions. Chances are, you will find a missing sock.
If it all looks clear, remove the drain pump from the motor and inspect where the pump connects to the motor for a broken connection slot. Replace the drain pump if necessary.
