<p><b>What are DLL files?</b><br />
<p>DLLs are dynamically linked library files. DLL file contains a list of certain functions that can be used by various applications. Spool32.dll is a great example of how the things work: that file is used by various programs for print control within Windows 95 and Windows 98.<br />
<p><b>Why is it important to unregister malicious DLLs?</b><br />
<p>DLLs may contain information essential for a computer to function properly. Malicious programs may corrupt regular DLL files or they may install new DLLs instead of normal ones.<br />
<p>Deleting DLLs is a risky deal since it can affect computers performance and functionality of many applications. If a malicious DLL is somehow used by a regular application and the DLL file is removed, the application won't work normally even if the deleted DLL is not needed for a program to function. This is why you have to unregister DLLs before deleting them.<br />
<p><b>How to unregister malicious DLL files?</b><br />
<p><b>a) Open Command Prompt window</b><br />Click the "<b>Start</b>" button and select "<b>Run</b>" option. Type "<b>cmd</b>" into the "<b>Open</b>" field and click the "<b>OK</b>" button.<br />
<p><b>b) Unregister malicious DLL file<br /></b>Type "<b>regsvr32 /u filename.dll</b>" into the Comand Prompt window and click "<b>Enter</b>". "<b>Filename.dll</b>" should be the name of DLL file you want to unregister<br />
I'm not sure why you'd have to upload a word document without the file extension, but you can do it by following these instructions:
Open Windows Explorer Browse to the folder that has your document in it Go to the Tools Menu (if there's none, press the ALT button) Choose Folder Options Select the 'View' tab Make sure that the tickbox for 'Hide extensions for known file types' is NOT ticked Click Ok until you are back to the folder with your document in it.
It should now have a name like Document.doc or Document.docx
Click on the file once, then once it is highlighted click again, and you can delete the .doc or .docx part.
Press enter when you are happy with the filename. Windows will give you a warning message saying it's not a good idea, but you can click ok past this.
If you are trying to upload a file WITH a file extension, follow the same instructions above, and instead of deleting the .doc or .docx, simply add it to the end of the filename.
Problem: Folders / files in USB flash drive got named with weird strange characters & those folder / files cannot be copied or deleted.
Reason: Virus infected
Solution: 1. Click on "Computer" 2. Right click on the drive that contains USB flash drive 3. Select "properties" 4. Click on "Tools" 5. Click on "Check Now" 6. Check disc options will appear on screen, put a tick mark in the box in front of Automatically fix file system errors 7. Tick mark in the box in front of Scan for & attempt recovery of bad sectors is not necessary. 8. Click on "Start" 9. Upon finishing of this task, screen will show message "Your device disc was successfully scanned" and bla bla. Close it. 10. After this process the undeletable folder in USB flash drive can be deleted by selecting it & deleting it. The contents of affected folders files cannot be recovered.
After lot of struggle I got this solution on my own by the grace of God. Sure it will work for others too.
This usually happens when you have either renamed the file, moved the file somwhere else, or deleted it all together. Sometimes you may forget editing the filename or moving it to a subfolder.
Whenever you do this be sure to go to itunes and either add the file again and delete the old one from the database or "Get Info" and update the current file.
tho u ve not mentioned any specific name of the file i m tryin to give u an example..suppose u are cant locate the music file m sure the files are where they are supposed to be then they must have been renamed. You can verify this -
Find a track with an exclamation mark next to it Open your iTunes Music Library.xml file with Notepad (the iTunes Music Library.xml file is usually in C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\My Documents\My Music\iTunes). Search for the track name A dozen or so lines below the track name will be the full path to the file and the filename. Compare this to where you know the file to be. If it is different then that would show that something/someone has moved/renamed the file.
hope u will b sorted out wth ur problem...
all the best
