May be your touch sensing module is out of order. Just check other buttons (Volume Keys,Home key, Camera Key)whether they are working. if its all working fine, sure its a fault of the touch sensing module.
i have one of these phones, im from new zealand and i braught it over from aussie. im trying to put a vodafone sim in it because telstra isnt over here. it wont let me, but i do know how to turn it on, make sure its fully charged, then on the right hand side above the mp3 button there is a red phone shaped button. hold that down. it seems to need to be held down longer than most phones. if it stil doesnt turn on there must be something wrong :/ but id like to find out how the heck to switch to vodafone on this thing, it just goes "insert correct sim"
It sounds like a stuck button to me since you said there's no signs of liquid damage. I used to diagnose and repair cell phones. With the phone off, just press every button in various angles [instead of straight down]. I hold the phone like Im talking on it, then use my thumb to rotate it around the menu navigation buttons. I would focus on the buttons used to navigate through the menu, then move to the other buttons. Power phone on and test it out. If this doesn't work, then its probably a software glitch as Razr phones are known to have those from time to time. I would then go back to where you got the phone and have them replace it under warranty if you got it within the year. If they won't for whatever reason, get a hold of Motorola and make them repair/replace it under their warranty [as they are the ones who warranty it for a year anyways]. Most cellular companies have policies to exchange defective phone out if within manufacturing [This case Motorola's] warranty.
I had this same problem. The best thing to try first for a free fix is getting a razor blade and starting to peel each layer off 1 by 1 start using a edge of a razor blade in one of the corners to do this and peel them off. I got through like 2 layers one all clear one clear w black outline b4 i got to one that looks like a throw back atari with a gold outline and 4 gold rectangles at the top. I think this might be some kind of contact strip though because the layer underneath has 4 gold rectangles also. i noticed that glue or something had spread from between these two layers onto the screen. I could even seen that i had anything on my screen other than a little rainbow discoloration with the other 2 layers of film on. I used light windex, water, and a lint free towel to clean off all the **** that was on the 2 surfaces but only peel pack top layer on 3 sides like a book and leave the sticky substance on outter edge so you can press the top layer back down i think I wiped too much glue on outter edge off bc it was working fine, then i had to get it really clean and now it senses when i touch but needs to be calibrated, but cant access through menu so Im looking for a button sequence to boot it. will update progress tomorrow
Early SE phones had a very odd bluetooth protocol. Its common that it can send different kinds of information but not recieve. Since newer phones are not that reverse-compatible as we would like them to be.
I'm not sure that there is any solution to your problem. Sorry
