Hello.....I have a unit similar to yours...and I never had that ptoblem...These units are cool and I love mine...but the cassette players are generally basic units...When you record are you listening to the music at the same time so that you know what's going on?....Ok....When you start the recording process....and you see the disc is rcording...and the cassette finished playing one side...you PAUSE the cd....Flip the tape....press the Pause again to restart the cd...I've never saw one of these types of uits with auto reverse...you have to flip the tape manualy...if you don't...you will only record half of the music....I hope this was helpful.....PEACE.......

How do you record onto a tape from a CD?

I couldn't find the exact manual but the XL-HP505 may be close enough...

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

My BTM 630 starts a very anoying noice after I raise the volume up from 13. I believe it has to do with the ventilation. Do you have any idea?

I found this user review that may coincide with your experience...

http://www.testfreaks.com/audio-systems/philips-btm630-37/

"When receiving the unit the fan was very loud and the cd player did not work. However, after calling phillips that same day they mailed a new "referbished" unit out with prepaid postage and pickup service for the old unit. The new one works great and sounds great in a smaller room. Sound is very crisp and clear."

Negative Opinion after several replacements:

"worst product ever by adiklaus - November 14, 2009
Pros: The third replacement unit is still not working, Philips send two faulty replacement units. All displayed signs of previous use and did not work. CD player was not working, the same in second unit, the third unit had no working display .
Cons: For the short time it worked the unit was adequate in sound quality but unfortunately this was short lived.
Review: I certainly dislike a product that does not work and is backed up by second hand unit which also do not work. Beware of this Unit"

I have a yorx L350 sound system, is it possible to record from cassette to cd, read manual nothing listed that I can find maybe there's a hidden path. thanks

As long as they are 2 separate units,it should be no problem.Play the cassette.Insert the cassette out plugs into the CD input plugs and record. As long as the CD has recording ability,it should work fine.Tape like a minute and check the CD before you do the whole thing just to make sure it is taping fine.Good luck!

How do I thread the tape on an Akai GX210D reel to reel tape deck?

When facing the deck, the feed reel goes on the left and the take-up reel goes on the right. Make sure to secure each reel by engaging the reel locks on each of the spindles. Place the feed reel with the free end of the tape on the left and hanging downwards (like the letter "P"). Pass the tape to the right of the tension spindle (which is above and to the left of the play/record heads unit. Pull the tape down and pass it underneath the heads from left to right. Then on the right hand side of the heads unit pass the tape between the guide wheel and the first guide spindle to its left and just above. Then pass the tape over the top of the second guide spindle. Finally, loop the tape under the right hand tension spindle and pull it up and feed onto the take-up reel from the right in an anticlockwise direction (like the letter "g"). Once you have it through the slot in the centre of the reel, hold the tape end there with your finger and wind the reel around a few times to hold the tape in place and ... Voila!

Sony cmt-hp7 - broken

The unit will attempt an internal reset to start from a known position. If you are hearing mechanical noises, the unit is out of sequence and must be rebuilt. These are not the most straightforward units. If any portion of hte system fails the "startup" sequence, the entire unit will stop. Unfortunately, this may need to see a servicer.

common fault on the JVC tape decks is the belt stretch and then it does a clicking sound its trying to pick up the audio heads. changing the belt is quite hard if you have`nt done it before.

Clicking sound in tape deck

All Aiwas  are prone to this problem.  The doors are a real pain and easily give up the ghost.  I have 2, both probmatic in this direction.
I have spoken to others about this problem. Seems no easy fix.
Have you in your case, tried leaving and old tape in the tape part of your  unit . The noise you hear, usually starts when tape unit area doors are about to pack a wobbly. Unless under warrenty, proberly,
not worth getting fixed.    It seems something gets weak in the activation part and get a mind of its own.  Very common after about 3 yrs of ownership.  All the best: jamz
