there are few educational videos at "u-tube" about your particular TV set. Try to watch those. It might help you to assemble the base. Generally speaking, most TV stands are identical in design. Some requires assembly, using screwdriver, some snapping in together. But all of them are attached to the TV via screws. Manufacture won't take a chance to attach 51" TV to the stand, just by snapping it into. cnettv.cnet.com/...tl515u/9742-1_53-50108300.html Good luck, Alex.
Follow the below instruction on how to the base off your Toshiba LCD TV;
Turn off your Toshiba TV if it is on.
Unplug your TV from the wall and any other devices (like DVD players or Blu-ray players) that it is connected to.
Put a blanket, towel or some other kind of soft object down on the floor
(if you have hardwood floors and not carpeting in your home).
Set your Toshiba TV down onto the soft surface with the screen facing downward toward the floor.
Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the two large, plastic bolts on
the rear of the TV stand's base. These bolts are holding the stand onto
your Toshiba TV. Set the bolts aside.
Use your hand to pull the base off of the Toshiba TV. You will now be
able to set your TV completely on the ground. Put the base (as well as
the accompanying bolts) aside for safe-keeping, in case you ever need to
use them again.
ya we put four screws in the base of the stand you have to lay t.v. on a flat surface protect the screen from getting damaged by putting a blanket over it when u flip it over or lay it flat on the bed you will see the 4 screws that hold the base to the t.v., but if it's a model that's having trouble just leave the base on as you will probably be returning it the store where you bought it lol
