Question about Keurig B50 Coffee Maker

1 Answer

Clogged filter?? I have to open and shut the compartment several times to get a cup of coffee. It almost seems like the filter is clogged. Is the some way of cleaning the filter with some type of product that will unclog the filter.

These units give small amounts of coffee. small is only about 5-6 ounces. Check that first. It is very doubtful that the filter would cause this, there really isn't one on most models.

You can try to clean out the pic and glides on the K-cup receptacle. Let me know if this works. It should.

I cant get the water to come through and brew a cup of coffee. it beeps 3 times and shuts off? is there anything I can do its only a year old.

Use a coffee pot cleaning additive (used to descale irons too) and run it through the brewing cycle.. flush it well afterwards with the brew cycle 2X more and it should be fine. Mineral deposits from hard water have clogged the line. Otherwise, get a new coffee maker as the valve in completely closed with mineral deposits and there is no way to open it to remove them and reseal it. An under sink water filter to remove hardness will prevent this from happening again.

Keurigs are known to have issues. I love them, but hate them. It sounds like your water line has clogged up. I can be wrong, but I have helped many people online fix this problem. Make sure the system is cold as not to scald yourself. Take a thin paperclip, unfold it straight and gently stick it in the k-cup piercer(where the water usually comes out of). This is done because calcium build-up and other debris causes that line to get clogged, and this method is to unclog it. If this method works, start a habit of running the coffee maker without a k-cup once in a while to prevent this. Good luck =)

Are you sure 8 cups of water is a lot to LOOSE it has to be somewhere i am used to loosing 1/2 cup in the grounds if i make 8 or more cups i have 2 of these coffe makers one in each house the only times i ever loose more is when the filter isnt properly seated and it flows around it and makes a major mess get your coffee maker into a good light and pour water into the filter(coffee maker off) with the carafe out fill it about 1/2 way no water should leak thru then slip the carafe into place the filter should empty if the water flowed when the carafe was out your filter basket and holder arent seated or the valve on the bottom of the holder is clogged and/or held open

My Keurig was running fine and recently I purchased a box of Timothy's coffee which seemed to have bubbled lids...since then my machine doesn't brew and entire cup of coffee and it shuts off when its...

I have the same problem. Timothy's seem to be the culprit. I hate to blame a specific k-cup, but I can run a cup of my wife's favorite (non-Timothy's) through right after I have the problem and they work fine - so that clearly points to the k-cup as the problem. Maybe they are more full of grounds or manufactured weaker...when I have the problem, I took apart a k-cup and the filter had broke, therefore all grounds were clogging water exit... I love the Timithy's coffee - best taste and strong, but maybe they aren't designed the best.

Cuisinart Coffee on Demand?12-Cup Programmable Coffee

Hello crystalmeikl,
This is a really common problem with the cuisinarts. I am most familiar with the DCC-1200, but you may be able to solve the problem. The may be an indication that something is plugged up. Open the top of the unit and in one of the corners you should find a water filter stick or column that is removable. Pull it out and open it up to clean out the clogged up carbon filter in there. (You can later buy a new filter on Amazon.) Clean out the debris from the bottom of the cavity. Replace the stick into the cavity once cleaned. Now it's time to run through a solution of 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar. Do this once or twice with fresh solutions, then with a pot of fresh water. When the filter stick is plugged up the sensor says its time to clean it or shuts the unit down, but most people don't know about this fix. I hope this is helpful to you, crystalm. Positive feedback is appreciated. Good luck. NormanZ

Can only make a cup of water without single serving in.

I had similar results and figured that the outflow needle, which punctures the bottom of the cup, might be clogged. The outflow needle can be accessed by just opening the top and removing any existing K-cups. I slid a narrow, stiff wire into the needle, and reamed it out a little bit. The coffee maker now seems to work as well as ever.

Weak coffee is the result of brew

Since it is "brand new out of the box" check for plastic burs (pieces of plastic improperly hanging around
openings along flow of water) throughout unit, and use more coffee than recommended for your taste of
what a good cup of coffee should taste like, since that varies from individual to individual. If you are using
packets, try using TWO. Experiment, Experiment...........

Slow brew time / water disappears?

I have this problem with a 4 cup model. 4 cups in, 2 cups out. I cleaned it twice with vinegar (with a filter in place). The first time didn't seem to help, but the second time I got about 2.5 cups out, along with a bunch of old grounds that I think had been sucked into the pump. Ran water through it twice, and now it gets to about 3 cups.

I think the problem is just that the pump is clogged with grounds. If vinegar makes yours worse my guess is that a big piece got dislodged and is now blocking the tube. More vinegar might help.
