    My friend has the HP G6000 and it has the same problem, the graphics chip overheats and shuts the laptop down, in America HP extended the warranty on the G6000 series due to this problem. There is nothing you can do to resilve this as its down to bad design.

I have the same problem, after opening up several times and cleaning out the fan it still continues to do it.
On the last opening of the laptop i noticed the heatsink for the nvidia graphics chip floats approx 5 mm above the chip (very bad design) and to save money they have just stuck a thick heat transfer pad in the gap which is not transferring the heat from the chip to the heatsink. This is a very bad design and I am searching a way of bridging this gap in a way that will disperse the heat from the chip.

"Keeps switching off 2 seconds after pressing power button"

It is doing what it is supposed to do but most computers take about 13 seconds to power off. as far as the rest you could have a bad motherboard change the laptop.

Hi my HP G6000 laptop wont turn on, when i press the power button on the lights flicker for a second and then nothing

Hi

The problem is from either the battery or the adapter .This is how to know;

First remove the battery of your laptop,plug the adapter,connect to electricity and put it on If the laptop turns on, then the battery is faulty and should be changed

If it doesn't come on,test it with another adapter. If it comes on then the adapter is faulty and you should get a new one

Cheers!!

HP G6000 laptop wont start

Extract your battery from your laptop for 12 min, then start your computer using your power cable (don't use your battery), if not try pressing F2 rapidly when opening, after you open your operating system try changing your graphics card drivers.
