How do I unlock the keyboard on the acer aspire 5532?

Remove the main battery and unplug the power supply from the computer, press and hold power for 2 minutes to remove any residual voltage, now install battery and power supply, and power up! hopefully this will clear the keyboard.

DEL Inspiron 1525 Held down some keys too long, got a warning (filterkeys?)... keyboard is now locked and will not type. How do I unlock it, please help.

Hi Stan,
Your issue is just that you enabled the sticky keys of your portable system. all you have to do is to disable it again. Just go to control panel then go to accessibility options. Choose Ease of Access. You will find an option to change how your keyboard works, click on that. You will find check boxes. Uncheck the sticky keys, filter keys.

The quickest way is to reboot the machine, sounds like someone held the shift key down and has got locked into sticky keys.

How do i change a keyboard?

First you have to determine how the keyboard is held in place. On many units, you remove the battery and look in the location for 2 or 3 screws with a small keyboard icon beside them. Remove those screws and the keyboard will lift off. After lifting it off, note there is a ribbon cable attached to the motherboard. you have to unlock the retainer for the ribbon cable by lifting up on both end tabs or it may have a flip tab for the lock. Be careful not to force too hard, they will break. On other beyboards, you may have to remove all of the case screws until you can determine how the keyboard is held in place. Some only require the speaker cover be popped up and the keyboard will come up. Hope this info helps

Keyboard Problem

Holding down the right-side SHIFT key has activated the "Sticky Keys" feature in Windows -- designed for physically-handicapped people who cannot press more than one key at a time.

Access CONTROL PANEL and disable this "Accessibility Option".
