ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.

Downloaded the driver, but still getting 'USB device not recognised'. HELP!!!!

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I have an olympus sp 800uz camera and my computer won't recognise it to download photos

1. You might be able to download foto's from the camera, when you do it manually from within the installed Olympus program. Windows XP has problems with auto downloading foto's from ib.
2. Otherwise, check if the computer is recognizing the camera (see LCD) and with the Explorer if a removeable memory device is available from the camera.
3. Try putting the camera into another USB port, or try the camera on another computer.
4. As an alternative, you might want to install a better and also free Olympus program:

I purchased a Belkin 4 port USB hub today and connected my Seagate external hard drive. Unfortunately my computer, Toshiba Satellite L655D, doesn't recognise the hard drive when located within the...

This is likely due to power consumption, if a hub doesn't have it's own power adapter, then it is drawing bus power from your computer, and will not have enough power to drive larger devices.

Jonathan deleted my usb

Several conditions affect how the USB device functions. First, unplugging the USB device least with the prescribed method of shutting resources with the menu buttons provided on computer makes device loose components recognisable at replugin. usually, in such instance the computer takes time to reconfigure the device at reconnection either automatically installing mutated codes or requesting to manually download the fragmented codes. Second, computer that have undergone updates or upgrades prior to establishing the USB devices least recognies the device. Reconnect the device to momentarily reconfigure the new setting attained on computer. Depending on the type of modifications that were made to the computer would either autocompile the USB codes to attain functionality or require manual installation of missing programs. usually the computer has the recommended missing programs only requires unpacking at the system update search buttons.
