Question about Televison & Video

Bought Orion Combo Colour Tv and Video Cassette Recorder-Model 20VROT with Teletext in Australia, (& it resides in Australia also) & it is about 3years old. What's needed for connection to Pay TV & where is it connected-is it the Scart on rear of TV Have the transmitter & receiver, + Power pack for Receiver, but think there was something else. And I've a vague idea there was a Scart cable involved (perhaps it's another TV I'm thinking of,too) Has prev. been connected to Pay TV, but forgotten how!

If you are using SCART then you will definitely need a scart cable. It is pretty simple. Just connecting the cable from the reciever to the tv.
If you need any further assistance let me know.
Thank you,
Lee

You need to use RCA Copmonent cable with your Pay tv---

    RCA Cable---

    DVI/HDMI Cable--

Please see if these were the cables you used earlier.
    Please ask for any clarifications

    Thanks

You need either a 21 pin rca to scart cable(to be connected at the back of the tv) to connect it to your pay tv

or a 2 pin rca to rca cable(to be connected on the front of your tv-see 15 in the diagram) so that you can connect it to the front of the your on 15.

    Please ask for further clarifications.

    Thanks

Cannot get video on my Orion model VRO 211B

Could be a connection problem. Pins on plugs can become bent or damaged, sometimes it is the socket that the plug fits into that becomes damaged. Try a different connection lead.

I just bought a digital video disc player & video cassette recorder. I'm having a problem connecting the player to my TV. My model No.is DVP3345VB/F7. Where I'm having a problem is the cable source...

You now connect the cable and the combo directly to the tv by using different connections: the cable goes in the antenna entry and the combo is connected to the tv with a 3-headed RCA cable - with heads of Yellow, Red and White.
Then when you want to see one or the other you just select the appropriate source from the tv's menu using the Source/square with arrow in it/AV or whatever is called in your model button on the remote.

Converting NTSC home Video tapes to Pal DVD or NTSC DVD

You need either an NTSC DVD recorder (keep in mind that the US has 110 voltage, while Australia does not), or a computer card that supports NTSC. Some video capture cards support both NTSC and PAL (often switchable). Choose good quality, and pay attention to video/sound sync - some bad quality cards loose sync. Once the tapes are transferred to DVD - and keep it native NTSC all the way, they can be played on virtually any PAL DVD player/TV combo. With an NTSC source, it's best NOT to convert to PAL, while with a PAL source in the US, you'd need to convert to NTSC or only show the DVD on a computer (where NTSC/PAL doesn't matter).

Orion model vpdc connection problem

Most, if not all, TV sets which have a tuner section (will tune in individual channels either off an antenna, cable system etc.) should be UHF capable. UHF channels are approximately channels 14 - 83 of the standard broadcast spectrum, unless this has now changed with HDTV or other RF spectrum changes by the FCC. These channels are not the same as the cable channels, for which the mode of the TV set must be set.

Anyway, you will connect the VCR to the RF input of the TV, and set the TV for non-cable mode (broadcast). You will likely need to set the TV for a particular channel which matches what the VCR sends the signal out on.

I assume also the VCR doesn't have composite video out & audio out jacks on it? If it does, these hookups can be made to matching connections on the TV.

Hope this helps.

B/w picture on all av inputs internal tuner from av box colour picture from internal tuner via scarts to video recorder tv on screen menus in colour teletext via internal tuner av box.

sounds like this set is in the UK??? or somewhere out of the states. If it working good on the tuner or telex box , the equipment your plugging into the AV inputs are not compadible to the tv set or there is a setting in the TV menu to change the format to pal
