Do manufacturers stick to the same codes for all the remotes in

Their product range? I have a Yamaha TX495 Amp and it had an RAX3 Remote originally but it broke, can I replace it with an RAX5 Remote which has all the same buttons but was made for a different model of Amp? Thanks

To solve my own problem !!! I have found that Yes it seems that most manufacturers stick to the same codes throughout their product range. I bit the bullet and puchased the RAX5 Remote and found that it works fine as a replacement for the RAX3. I also have two different models of Sony DVD Recorders (1 about 5yrs old & 1 about 1yr old) and have found that both Remotes will work with either machine. Hope this helps other people,

Here is the link to Polaroids phone support page. I suggest that everyone call Polaroid and complain about this issue since many people are having this same problem, and Polaroid's answer to me was maybe we will have some codes for our new TV's by Jan of next year.

Need code for Sony DVD and Sony tv and how to program it I have ge 24991 1312 universal remote

Buy a SONY universal remote.
Most universal remotes do not support SONY, but a hand full do.
Packaging should explicitly state support for SONY.
Most IR remotes can use a carrier frequency range of 30-56KHz, with most using normally 38-40KHz, or likely the GE universal. SONY is in the mid 50KHz range, other manufactures in upper 40KHz range and audio equipment Bang & Olufsen and, Kenwood use a 455KHz frequency. The carrier is what your TV or DVD is tuned to see and the codes are transmitted like Morse code for digit ones and zeros to say, change channel or play.
Short to say if you don't find an auto code scan that works then try another manufacture. Manual can be found online at manualslib if lost.

Is it possible to program an alternate remote to replace the Yamaha GX-50 OEM remote VU506200.

You could pick up a new one at this website for $40. Not sure if that is feasible.
YAMAHA GX 50 AUDIO REMOTE CONTROL SYS1 VU506200

I believe the ZA11360 remote works with Amplifiers and is not compatible with the GX-50 mini sound systems. You could try and buy a universal remote and then try and program it for the GX-50 but it is hard to find codes. There are a few Yamaha sound system codes available on the web and you could try these with the ZA11360. But these are for Yamaha CD players. Try one of 60036, 60490,61907.

Code for rc65x

http://www.ezremote.com/setupcodehelp/DTV2/dtv.html?product=DIRECTTVRC65SW2009

Is the top switch all the way to the left? What type of receiver? Receiver might be rf mode. Is the remote different from your original remote? Press 'menu' go to 'settings & help' or 'parental, favs, & setup' then 'settings' or 'setup', then remote control. Go 'advanced ...' and check ir/rf mode. If it is exactly RC65X then the receiver should be set to IR.

Tengo un control de sony RM-YD014 quiero el manual o el codigo para programarlo otra ves a mi televizor

REMOTE CODES & PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS RM-YD014 The RM-YD014 remote control is not programmable and remote codes are not required. This remote is designed to control the product that it originally came with. If the remote has buttons for other product types (TV, DVD, etc.), it can control only Sony branded versions of these products. Please note that this remote may not be able to control all models of these other Sony product types.

I have a Dynex TV & a Dynex DVD player, Lost the remote to the DVD player but I have a PHDVD5 universal remote that I'd like to use for them both, or AT LEAST the DVD player. I just don't know...

TV code is 115

Will not find a code for the DVD player though. Im not sure which model you have, but Dynex will send you to MCM Electronics for original replacement parts, that is their provider. Check out www.mcmelectronics.com or give them a call at 888-235-4692 to see if they have your remote. Remotes for the models DX-DVD2 and DX-UPDVD2 are both listed for $4.99 plus shipping.

Need a remote or tv code

Most universal remotes will work and the code will always come with the remote. There is not one set of universal codes that come with the TV. The codes are remote specific, so if you are looking for a code refer to your remote instructions and manufacturer and not your TV literature. Your best bet to get full functionality is to get a logitec harmony remote. They usually cost a bit more and take more to program but they are the best I have found to absolutely get all the function you could ever get because you can program as many extra buttons as you want. Another option is to call the manufacturer, their number will be listed in the user manual. They can send you the original remote. It may cost somewhere in the range of $15-$50.

Yamaha RAV250 remote control for my laptop

No, you cannot use this remote I'm afraid because if you tried to do a manual search with the remote to control something, and it does not work, the code is not in the remote. You cannot make a remote learn a code unless it is a learning type remote. When you do a search with a remote, all your doing is calling up all of the reprogrammed codes already in the remote. As to other media remotes for your computer, you will need to contact the manufacture of the computer. Good Luck
