Question about EPoX EP-8KRAI-X Motherboard
I have a new 8ogb sata II Exelstor hardisk which i put in my old motherboard EP-8KRAI-X. The motherboard has two sata slots. The bios did not detect any hardisk that's why I can't install my windows xp sp3. What should I do so that the bios can detect my sata II hdisk. There is no jumper in sata lI hdisk.
Windows XP does -not- have native SATA support and therefore will not recognize a SATA drive without first installing 3rd party drivers.
To go around this problem without installing drivers check your BIOS. There might be something in there where the bios will emulate an IDE controller.
If not, you'll need a floppy and the sata drivers. A flash drive will also do if the motherboard bios supports legacy USB. To find the drivers, simply go to the motherboards manufacturers website.
