    Thank you for your answer.

Yes I have taken the battery out several times, it still has not worked. The lens tries to pop in and out. When it fails to initialise then it writes"Access denied turn on and off your camera"

What else should I try to do?

Did you take out the battery, cleaned it and then reinserted and then powered on? Try this it might work....

Generally the came should come on after your turn it on and off again. The error you are getting is because of either System Error or Internal Memory Error.

I think you might need to take it to Sony. But Before that, I suggest that you take out its memory stick, the battery etc and keep the camera like that for about 15 minutes. Then only reinsert the battery (fully Charged) and try to power on. If you are lucky, you might not need to go to Sony

My Cyber-shot DSC-W350 keeps saying turn off and on. I have turned it off and on several times but the situation is unchanged.

The error message to turn off and back on the camera is just a standard message; turning off the camera will do nothing unfortunately. The lens assembly needs to be replaced, it's about a $45 part or $75 total for the complete repair service. Hope this helps.

I have a Sony DSC-W50 Cybershot camera that won't take pictures or videos anymore. It powers up fine and the screen works, but when I hold down the shutter button all the way, it focuses and nothing more.

Digital Camera Fault

ACCESS error could happen when lens gets stuck but if it happens when lens moves back and forth without problem it usually means that where the lens assembly plugs into main system board connection is loose. These connections are held in place by a very small thin fragile plastic clip and a few drops could be enough to snap it but not do any other noticeable damage to camera. Camera would need to be opened to see if clip is broken or maybe cable just needs to me reinserted. Either way only open camera if no longer under warranty and you are somewhat handy

Formate Error Sony Cyber Shoot DSC W50

This suggests one of 3 things. 1. Defective card, care fully clean the contacts or replace the card. 2 Dirty or defective card chamber contacts wrap apiece of clean paper around a card and carefully insert and remove several time into the chamber- thus attempting to 'polish' the contacts. take extreme care this is a very delicate area. 3. Firmware failure - there is no solution, replace the camera -unless it is under warranty Contact the Fuji technical support team at any rate.

Help!

This problem is not related to plugging your camera into your computer. This is a symptom we have seen many times with various Sony cameras over several years of production. As far as we have been able to determine it is a problem with the sensor that feeds back the position of the zoom motor. I had a camera just a few days ago with this exact same issue. I swapped out the controller board and it did not change the behavior at all. I would suggest either sending the camera to a repair facility, or returning it to the manufacturer for service if you wish to get it repaired. The resolution will probably involve replacement of the set of sensors that feed-back the lens position to the control board. This issue is a problem with most Sony cameras, and as I said we have seen it several times and have not yet been able to identify the source. We forward cameras with this behavior on to Sony for service. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
