Hello you can download the driver here at gateway:

http://support.gateway.com/product/default.aspx?modelid=2376

First make sure it`s the right model.

But first select your windows system 32 or 64 bit system.

Download the sound driver and unzip the file before you install.

Reboot after the install is done.

Install the other drivers if any missing.

Hope this will help you.

Crackling and hissing sound either on speakers or when using headphones. Speakers work fine on another laptop. Only happens on my Gateway 5260 desktop.

It's probably related to the drivers. Go to Creative Labs website and download the latest driver package for the specific card and OS you're using. They'll walk you through how to identify the exact model of the card if you're unsure. Hope this helps.

Sound does not work on my laptop

You need to download the drivers for your particular hardware. Go to gateway's web site, look in the support section and in particular under downloads/drivers (or perhaps software). There will be a facility of entering your machine's model number and operating system to download the correct drivers. if you have difficulty finding them, then re-post here listing your computer's model number for assistance.

If you find this solution to be helpful, then please take a moment to rate this post. - Thanks.

My sound wont work. i've tried everything but it says i have no audio dive . i dont know what else to do

Newer sound cards use Microsoft's Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) bus. This means that you usually need to install the UAA bus driver first, then the audio chipset driver.

If the sound card came with your system, go to the system manufacturer's website and download drivers for your model. For example, Gateway downloads at http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/dlcenter.asp

Gateway has a pretty good download section, so you might be able to find what you need on your own. If you can provide more specifics about your computer and/or sound card, we can usually give more specific guidance to the correct downloads. For example, manufacturer, model, operating system, etc.
