Question about Jenn-Air SVE47100 Slide-In Electric Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Hello-I am being given a Jenn-Air electric range soon. My current electric stove just has the vent pipe coming up under a back element. Will I need to vent the Jenn-air to the outside? I have an over-the-stove microwave that has a ductless fan system. Would that be OK to use instead of the Jenn-Air vent? I'm trying to buy some time to save up in case I have to get it ducted, but want to use it in the meantime. Thanks, Dot

Yes the ductless fan will work for you. I have that setup here at my house. Just make sure that you have a charcoal filter installed in the microwave where the air comes out on top. If it is already vent less the filter is probably already there.

How do you remove old bake elementfrom Jenn Air SVE47001

Pretty simple, make sure you unplug the range or flip the breaker off. Remove the two screws mounting the element to the back wall, carefully pull out the element. It probably has slide on connectors, pull them off and thats it! If you accidentally pull off a wire and it stays back in the stove, you can pull the unit out and remove the back panel and it will be all out in the open.

How can a Jenn-Air down draft stove be vented out the roof ?

Yes , its much more labor intense but it can be done by venting it up through the wall then through the attic over to the side vents. Make sure to get flexable duct to pull up through the wall.
