I know this sounds crazy but we need some replacement tubs for a WWA5600BALWH for a client of ours in Africa who has hundreds of them. GE/Hotpoint have discontinued them. I need to get hold of an old tub to try and back engineer. Any ideas?

Unfortunately not. In addition to replqacing the blet, the transmission must be replaced. It is the only item in your washing machine that contains gear oil. It's a tough job for the do-it-yourselfer...If I can help further, I am here.

You have a faulty timer switch that will need to be replaced. Here is a link to that part to order.

Washer slinging grease from bottom of tub onto sidewalls of washer. Also beginning to leak water while it is agitating and spinning. Do I need Tub Bearing kit?

You need the outer tub seal as a minimum for the water leak. The grease is a different mater, it could come for several places by the most likely in the transmission, not the bearings.

Grease blobs appear in wash, Maytag washer A211. How do I fix?

Searched for the model on the web and didn't find it. I am assuming that it is an older top load model. Front loaders I don't know about.

Is the grease appearing just in the drum or is there some on the floor underneath. Either way I would say you need to replace the transmission. If you have an old 12-15 yrs washer I would get a new one. The replacement trannys only last a couple of years at best and aren't worth the money to replace $200-300 if your machine is ready to **** out. The only places on a washer that have grease are the clothes you're washing and the transmission. The tranny will mostly leak onto the floor but can sometimes get into the drum.

Grease spot found on the floor from the right side

There is a bearing seal that does tend to leak. Feel free to ask any other questions. I do recommend copy and pasting this link in your internet address bar under a new tab for more great repair info:

GE washer Model WDSR2080D5WW Transmission shaft wobbles

If you can't loosen the nut, you can break it with a hammer and a metal chisel. Tub nut is cheap. Grease on clothes = new transmission time.
By the way, after you remove the inner tub,.... you have to take the entire outer tub assembly out of the washer, flip it upside down, remove the yoke that holds the motor onto the outer tub, and pull the transmission out through the bottom of the outer tub.

Grease/oil under washer

Hi, there. Get some one to fix that leak ASAP. The lack of oil will ruin your machine's transmission and/or motor. If you've noticed that your machine runs louder than it used to, then ***stop using it*** until you get the leak repaired. I kept using mine and when it stopped working I couldn't get the parts (a transmission) so I have to get a new one.
