No power I have a clarion Marine Cd Stereo #M3170 I bought it a few years ago and never got around to hooking it up in my Boat. Now I decided to install it in another Boat and after trying to hook it up it won,t even light up. It acts as if there is No power hooked to it. It was stored in a Cabinet in my garage and was never used.

i have a sony dsx L 350. It's on a boat. The lights flash on and off, and sometimes nothing. Could it be a ground problem.

Do you have the manual. I have the same model installed on my BMW 1100RT motorcycle and it requires two power hookups. One senses the ignition is turned on and the other is the power up from power source. If the ignition power wire isn't connected, the unit will not powerup. You can however, connect both of these power wires to bypass the ignition switch. This ignition switch is used so you don't kill your batter by accident. I'm sure that wouldn't be good on a boat. Good luck!

Model-m 255 clarion installed in a pontoon boat. RADIO WAS WORKING JUST FINE, THEN I INSTALLED A (NEW) BATTERY FOR MY BOAT, HOOKED EVERTHING BACK THE SAME WAY. NOW, I HAVE POWER BUT (NO) SOUND...

Disconnect all the speaker leads and then hook one speaker (a new, known to work speaker) up directly to the radio using a short (6"-12") piece of speaker wire. Does that speaker work then?

Clarion M5675 won't turn on

Take the stereo all the way out and hook the black wire to the negative terminal and the yellow and the red wire to the positive terminal on a charged car battey. If it still does not turn on you may have fuse in the back of the deck. If not it's probably fried.

CD PLAYER IN boat says ACCS and does not work, i have power and i checked the fuse's all working but the screen reads ACCS and i cannot remember how i fixed it the first time this went wrong,

OK, so I spoke with a Claion reseller and they were very nice and helpful. ACCS mode is accesory mode. This can happen if the brown wire in the back touches ground or the case on the radio. If it is not, tap the brown wire on the yellow(hot) wire and that takes it out of that mode. I tried it and it worked. Good luck! And thanks Clarion for your support on my 3 year old radio!

When volume is turned up the radio shuts off

Have you checked all of the connections on the speakers, stereo, etc. Being a marine CD player, the wires and connectors are exposed to more elements than a car CD unit. Check for corrosion and make sure that all the speakers are hooked up to the correct "+" and "-" terminals. Not sure if this will help, but thought I'd try. It does sound like a speaker connection problem.

Is this considered clipping in marine boat stereo help!!!!

if your radio is puiing more power your ground might not be good enough, use the same spot but remove the ground and rough it up a little on the base with some sand paper or add a metal o ring to get a better ground.

Bottom line is that boats are a hrsh environment for electronics. Moisture, salt, and vibration all conspire to undo solder joints and electrical connections. 4 years is a pretty good life span on a boat. A solder connection within the unit could have let go. A good repair shop could probably fis the bad connection but you can probably replace the unit for less.
