Re: Memory menu doesn't work.
If you are willing to reset it, hold the "CLEAR" button while you take out the batteries and then let go of clear, then put the batteries back in, and if that don't work, reverse the last two steps, and if that don't work, I suggest that you get professional help

Instructions 1 Enter the memory options by selecting "Mem." Press the "2nd" key followed by the "+" key. Select "Reset" from the memory choices. Use the arrow key to select and delete all memory.
2 After choosing to delete all memory, select "Reset." After this reset, your screen should show "Mem Cleared." Once you have reached this screen, press "Enter." If you installed programs or applications, you may need to remove them manually. Once again, enter the "Mem" command. 3 Press "2" to select Memory Management. If you are deleting programs, input that option from the subsequent menu choices. If you need to remove applications, input that choice and press "Enter. Select the application or program from the list displayed. Press "Del" to request the deletion. Choose "Yes" to confirm your choice.
4 Repeat this process to delete remaining programs manually. After completing this, exit the memory menu and press the "Apps" button. Make sure no applications remain. Additionally, press the "Prgm" button, and check that all programs have been removed
Press 2ND MEM 2 to get into the memory management menu. Press 1 for all variables or select the appropriate type. Scroll down if necessary to the variable X. Press DEL to delete it. Press 2ND QUIT to exit the memory management menu.
To delete stuff from memory, press 2ND [MEM] 2 to display the Memory Management/Delete menu. Select the type of data you want to delete, or 1 for a list of variables of all types. Navigate through the list using up- and down-arrow and press DEL to delete the item from memory. Press 2ND [QUIT] to exit.
The games you installed (or at least one of them is still in memory. Clear the memory and archive the games you do not play, it will free memory.
Press [2nd][MEM] [2:Mem Mgmt/Del] [7:PGRM]. A list of programs is displayed. To archive a program highlight it and press [ENTER]. An asterisk appears to the left of the program name. To exit press [2nd][QUIT] or just [CLEAR] and you will return to Home screen.

Hello, Press [EXIT] or [2nd][QUIT] to terminate the program that may be hung in memory. Press [2nd] MEM[F3][F1][F4]. You may have to reset contrast. 1.Press and release [2nd] key. 2. Press and hold [UpArrow] to darken or press and hold [DownArrow] to lighten it.
Batteries: Make sure to replace the "battery backup" too the little lithium ion battery
Try Adjusting contrast:
Hold down "[2nd]" key press up or down arrow repeatedly to lighten or darken contrast.
First attempt reseting: Step 1: Remove all the batteries Step 2: Hold "Clear" key down Step 3: Still holding "Clear" key reinstall batteries Step 4: Still holding "Clear" key press "On" key until home screen is displayed.
Second shot reseting: remove all batteries including lithium ion (backup battery), wait 3 hours and reinstall batteries.
Third Shot reseting:
Step 1: Remove a battery
Step 2: Hold down "DEL" key reinstall battery
Step 3: Possible msg pops up saying "Waiting ... Please install software" IGNORE msg and take out battery again Step 4: Reinstall battery do not hold down "DEL" key
reseting will cause the handheld to loose all of its stored memory.
I have the same problem with the calc not responding to removing one batt and reinstalling while holding clear, etc. My fix is to hook up wires to the battery leads and plug the wire into a 120 volt outlet. Watch it light up, but do NOT breath the smoke as it is extremely toxic. ;-) lkw
