Did you change the original password?
Is it the password to administer the router or to access the wireless network?

By default, Username is "admin" without the quotes and Password is left blank. Once you are in configuration, you can change the default Username and Password to whatever you choose, then hit "Apply" to save it.

If neither of those options works, do a complete reset of your router by holding a small object into the reset button located in back for 30 seconds while plugged in and continue to hold it another 30 seconds while unplugged. Reconnect everything and try the steps above again.

I am trying to get my network key for my WRT54GX2 ver.2 router, tried to log into server 192,168.1.1 but using blank for user name nad admin as password did not work. What should I do next????

Try using userTry using the username admin and password also admin. This is the default setting. If that doesnt work you may need to reset the router by pushing the small button at the back of the router and then use the admin, admin to login.
Hope this helps. Good Luck.

I cant remember my password to get in to my asus 4g surf netbook. tapping f9 on startup doesnt work

If this is the windows password, then you need some software called ophcrack, its a disc image which you can download burn to a cd and boot from.

This will help you clear or change your windows password. If it is the bios or hard drive password which is causing you problems then you will need to remove the cmos battery from the mainboard. This will look like a large watch battery or it may be encased in plastic and connected to the mainboard via a couple of wires. Remove this battery and leave the machine for a while. (overnight is easiest) then refit the battery and try again.

Hope this helps.

I log into my router, try to change my username and put a WEP password on it. Click apply, reboot my router but it doesnt save my settings?

I don't think most routers allow you to change the login username, only the login password and the SSID & login passcode/passphrase of your wireless network. Have you checked for firmware upgrades to your router?

Trying to install d-link

try user: admin and password: admin.

Assuming you are installing fresh, if it doesnt take admin admin.

Try resetting the device. Follow instructions to reset the Dlink router
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/wbr2310/Manual/wbr2310_manual_10.zip

A pin hole with Reset written over it, near to power socket.

After resettings any previous password will be reset to default
user: admin, password: nothing just hit enter

Hope this helps

Can not set up. on connection, either wireless router works or the PC which has a wired modem connected to broadband. Pl guidemy mail mee.ratan@gmail.com thanks

okay do this.
go to 192.168.1.1
username it's in blank (no password) if that doesnt work try with admin as a username.

the password it's password, if it doesnt work try with admin as a password,

You'll see a linksys page, to the top you'll see the wireless set up.
Click there and change the name and the password.
After you do that save the changes and you'll see the difference :) on your wireless connection it's like creating a new connection, you can always change the channel for a better signal too ;)

My wireless router doesnt connect to a wireless netowork. I played with the security settings and now i dont know what they originaly were and i forgot my password and login. please help

You will need to "hard reset" your router. This will put it to the default factory settings.

Hold the reset button in for 30 seconds. You will then need to log on the router through the admin website:

192.168.1.1 and the login/password will be admin/admin and you'll be able to change your settings.

In regards to your first statement, the wireless router creates the wireless network. It connects to the Internet through the cable modem (or dsl) and provides an access point for wireless devices.

Internet doesnt connect without repairing the connection

Do you ahve the WPA password?
If you have the correct WPA password and if you were able to go online before on the same computer, then it will not ask you to enter the password again and again. It will save the password in the memory.
If you are facing problem while connecting to the network , then you can try to removed the network from the preferred networks list.

The default username and password to configure router doesnt work

Try to turn off your modem first before trying to open the router's setup page. By default, there's no username and the password is admin. Also turn off any firewall you have.
