WW Granger is the biggest supplier I know of for dayton. Consult them for information and if its still available.
In lue of this find the oldest repair man you trust and ask him if he knowes anything about them. I know I could help if I could see what you have and had some more questions answered. Pilot ignition? Gas valve model? Does it have a regulator in the gas valve? Then you have to find a kit to block open the regulator. Then change the orfices to correct size or solder and redrill the old ones. Then maybe adjust the combustion air, and you may have to change the pilot burner orfice and adjust it.
After that you can fill the LP tank.
Hope this helps IF so please grade me accordingly and Good Luck.

Dayton is primarily sold by www.Grainger.com . You must purchase a re-jetting kit (Natural Gas Valve) from them to accomplish this.

Hi,
Call this number 1-800-323-0620 That is the Grainger Parts line. The Dayton units are all made for Grainger.
They will be able to tell you (1) if the unit can be converted.
(2) If the parts are available to convert that unit.
(3) You will also be able to order the parts directly from them if they are available.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

Want to change Dayton 3E133E from natural gas to Propane

Would have to have conversion kit IF available. Must get from mfr. The Dayton brand is owned exclusively by W.W.Grainger. Not sure if someone else makes their furnaces for them. Start w/ Grainger, if they won't sell to you maybe they will give you the name of a company who will work on it. Good Luck!

Flames burn then die down

it sounds like you may have a dirty pilot tube or a weak pressure regulator. I would try blowing out the pilot tube to make sure it is clear and if that does not work then replace the regulator.
