Question about Sony PlayStation (original) Games

Just pulled the Playstation 1 out of a box. It hasn't been used for about 6 years. I've hooked it up to the TV. ..Turned it on...I get a "SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT" picture on the TV...But when I put in a game disc (Panzer General) nothing happens...I don't hear the disc turning, and I have no instruction manual.
What's next?

I tried using the toothpick method shaunvfx suggested...No effect. I looked at the laser lens...It appears clean. I have heard that wiping it with a cleaning solution is a no-no. At any rate, no light emits from the laser lens after using the toothpick starter method. Me thinks I just have a bad set.

    Any other suggestions?

When you open the lid there is a piece of plastic that pushes down a button that tells the unit to start spinning the disc.

With the unit off, open the lid. Power on the unit leaving the lid open, make sure game is in place. After the playstation loads take a toothpick and press down the button that would normally be depressed by the lid closing in the back right side.

Keep holding down the button for a few seconds. If the disc does not start to spin then give disc an each kick start counter clockwise. You might have some dust preventing it from spinning, make sure the disc lens (on the black thing that is under the disc) is clean.

If it starts spinning, close the lid and there you go.

After the toothpick is pressing down the lever in the back do you hear any noises? Have you tried to push start the disc a little bit to see if it goes?

I would say you might have a bad motor...

Does your PlayStation 1 load other games? If not, the laser assembly of your PSX is broken. You can repair it yourself by buying a new laser assembly on eBay, and installing it in your PlayStation 1. If you can't get it done, please contact me.

Playstation software titles are only compatible with Playstation 1, 2, and 3 hardware systems. Games developed for these systems cannot be installed and played on a personal computer.

How can I fix my Digimon World 3 because whenever my Digimon nears level 40 the game freezes and when I go to the next city the blue squares are stuck..

I got this game too but it has nothing like that. That means there is the most chance that there is corrupt data on your CD (usually gained by having your CD too damaged (meaning too old or just damaged by scratching)).

If this is not the case, it could always be your playstation not being able to load it, Also meaning your playstation is pretty old (old = a decent amount of years), but if you got nothing like it on other games, it should be your CD.

2 PS1 games in almost perfect condition arn't working on PS2

Try wiping the disks in a circular motion with a cotton t-shirt, tissue or cleaning cloth, then try again. If it still doesn't work, try a PS2 game. If it works, try another PS1 game. If the other PS1 game doesn't work, the PS1 part of your PS2 system may be broken. Your PS2 has, inside of it, a miniaturized PS1. If that mini-PS1 breaks, you can't play PS1 games. If the PS2 game doesn't work, you probably need a lens repair. If the other PS1 game works, then your games are defective and you should get new ones.

How do i hook up the rca jacks of my playstation 7501 to the tv?

You generally just plug the yellow rca into the yellow female rca socket, and the red and white into their respective colors... change to tv to AV1 or whichever it was plugged into.

Ace Combat 6 trouble seeing targets

Unfortunately this is main problem of the SDTV - low resolution (believe me or not but I couldn't see where enemy missiles were coming from when I played on my TV). So I switched to my LCD monitor (maybe 17" is a bit small but at least it's 1280x1024).
