Question about AT&T E5640 Phone

AT&T 993 Problem: New 9.5+ volt duracell battery properly install, bat "Batt" remains displayed. As far as I can determine the phone functions correctly in all other respects, with or without the ac adapter power plugged in. Can the Batt display be cleared?

I have the same problem (phone shows no connection to power supply), and it occurs on two new 993 units I recently purchased. When I finally reached an AT&T rep I was told that they would not help me because my service is with Comcast, not AT&T! I was told to go back to the store where I bought them, a useless suggestion. Unfortnately, in this mode, my units cut out in mid conservations, rendering the units essentially useless.

Grundig Sattelit 800 radio-batt blinks w/new Duracell Alkakines from Costco(so they are fresh; good till 2024)

I have talked to the gentleman who designed this radio and he said that in order to correct this problem two pins on the inside of the front panel must be shorted while 6.2 volts dc is fed to the battery terminals. The whole radio must be disassembled to reach these pins, I have not been able to find a service manual to help me locate said pins. If anyone out there can find out where to get a service manual please contact

Satellit 800-batt blinks w/new Duracell alkaline batteries.

Have you checked the voltage on the new batteries.??? Some batteries, even if they are new... have a short shelf life, if they aren't used. You will need a volt meter or battery tester...if you dont have either, take the batteries to a Radio Shack or even a Auto store and ask them to check it for you.

I have a Taylor 9856 scale. The batt message came on so I changed the battery. Now it doesn't work.

"After replacing the 9-volt battery, the scale wouldn't turn on. I tried new Duracell and a Kroger brand batteries. I eventually discovered that the stock battery (Tianqiu brand) was shaped slightly differently from the new batteries. The minus contacts were not quite touching. Luckily, I just had to bend out the connector on the scale so that it touched the battery. Now it works again."

How do you connect a HP compaq fan to a 9-volt battery?

  • Remove the 9-volt battery to be tested from the device it is powering.

  • 2can-test-9v-battery_-1.2-120x120.jpg The Readout image by Cinneman from jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep2 span.image a:first').attr('href',''); }); Test a battery with an inexpensive voltmeter or battery tester.

Read the instructions of the testing device to ensure an understanding of how to connect the battery to the tester properly.

  • 3

Attach the battery to the testing device according to the manufacturer's instructions, being careful to attach the positive terminal of the battery to the positive input of the testing device, which will be indicated by a "+" or "positive." Attach the negative terminal of the battery to the negative input of the testing device, which will be indicated by a "-" or "negative."

Read the display of the testing device to determine the status of the battery. If the voltage is low, replace the battery with a new one.

The electrical output of a 9-volt battery will decrease slowly until it reaches a level that is no longer adequate to power a 9-volt device. When the output of the battery decreases to 5.5 volts or less, the battery should be replaced as the power output has diminished to a point of imminent failure.

Only when i come to a complete stop, while in drive, the battery and emergency break ligt come on...

Idle is to low,or the alternator is not charging enough. It needs to be 13.65 volts,to 14.25 volts at the battery with the lights on,and high blower on.If it is lower than this, replace the alternator.

Even after replacing the battery, the programmable Honeywell thermostat still shows "Low Batt."

Turn control to off. Remove the batteries for at least one hour. If the display message still reads "bat lo", leave control off, batteries out, and disconnect the red wire on back and wait another hour. Reconnect red wire, put new batteries in and turn system on. It's like a reboot.

Ademco 6128 keypad beeping at random times & says bat on the display screen now - is there a battery in there we need to change?

you need to change your main control battiery.
the main control panel takes a 12 volt 7 amphour or a 12 volt 4.5 amphour battery. the larget the amphour the longer the system will last when the power is out. available at fry's radio shack or on line. ps: if the key shows a zone number with the bat, that means you have a wireless sensor low battiery.

14.6 means your voltage regulator or diode is suspect Despite having new alternator .Ive cross refrenced your smptoms in the haynes workshop manual and alternator is your only end answer. The haynes test is to start vehicle with multi meter connected across the battery terminals, increase the engine speed until the reading remains steady should be approximately 12 to 13v and no more than 14v.switch on as many accessories as possible(headlights heater blower radio etc)check that the alternator maintains the regulated voltage at around 13 to 14v.If the regulated voltage is not as stated then alternator is to be repaired/replaced.Good luck with it and a happy new year.
