I need the installations instructions for a American Standard Drain/faucet Kit #1583.470. How can I keep it connected so the drain will come up with the drain control without slipping off.

I had a similar problem where the Drain-Kit that I ordered was missing a part. After contacting American Standard and requesting a schematic. I realized that the missing part was the rocker assembly with stopper. I have a PDF of the schematic that I can send you if you still need it. Let me know. The alternative is to contact American Standard directly between 8am and 6pm Eastern and request the information. The phone number is (800) 442-1902 Option 3 then 1 then 2. Tell the person that you need the installation instructions for a 1583.470.xxx universal bath drain.

Their is a little spring steel locking type piece of metal that slides on the end of the shaft to stop the lift arm linkage for sliding off . Most brands are the same, and it should be something you can get from a hardware store or a replacment for same, if it is missing. Take the horozinal lever with you.

Low water volume from faucet

Most likely the screen at the end of the faucet is plugged with a mineral deposit. Unscrew the screen cartridge from the end of the faucet and soak it in vinegar to dissolve the deposits.

We have american standard bathroom faucets with speed connect drains and they're draining slow

Disconnect the speed drain and pull the stopper out to see if it drains fine with the stopper out and if it does then you need to clean the parts and reinstall same.

I HAVE THE AMERICAN STANDARD WALK IN TUB WITH THE QUICK DRAIN AND WHEN I FILL IT UP TO USE THE JETS, THE DRAIN WILL NOT RELEASE TO LET THE WATER OUT. WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM?

It could be the pressure on the drain isn't allowing the rubber around the drain pop up to come unlodged from the floor of the tub. I have ran into this problem a few times. the best way we found to take care of it was to install a push pull type drain assembly or try and adjust the drain pop up so it pops up higher allowing the rubber around it to break the seal and start to drain. take some pictures and post them i might be able to help more

We have an American Standard lifetime whirlpool tub with the pop up drain (white). However, the pop up drain plug has always been tempermental but now it no longer wants to stay down.

Chances are that the drain assembly was not part of the tub but a 'generic' plumbing part. Is this pop up drain the type that you push down and it clicks closed and push down and then it pops up? It unscrews from the drain fitting and you can get a replacement at a big box store. A better pop up replacement is one called a Rapid-fit. It drains faster.

I need a manual of instructions for instalation of this product .

You will need plumbers putty and a plumber's drain tool. Put a ring of putty around the piece that will be on the inside of the tub to seal it. Then insert it through the hole making sure the rubber gasket is on the bottom side of the tub and tighten it down.
