Re: no cd rom and forgot log in admin password for hp...
Without CD's, if the Original Windows XP that came with the computer is the one installed, you can completely format and reinstall the Operating System with all the default software that came with the computer suing the System Recovery Option built in to the hard drive on the recovery partition.
Go to the section named: Reinstall the operating system using the advanced recovery options
Here's the basic Recovery Steps without disks:
Plug in AC Adapter
Power on your computer
Right after you turn the computer on, repeatedly tap the F11 button
After the Compaq screen disappears, the System Recovery Screen should appear shortly after. Stop tapping F11 when you see this screen
Choose to do a System Recover and click next
Check if next screen has "Advanced Options" to choose from near the top.
If it doesn't, click next, and hopefully the next screen will have "Advanced Options"
Click Advanced Options then choose Destructive Recovery
This will do a FULL FORMAT of the computer and reinstall the Operating System and default software that came with the computer. (Note: this will wipe out all data you have saved on your computer)
Click Next with Destructive Recovery selected.
Reboot the computer when the computer prompts you to reboot
Process may take approx. an hour I believe. DO NOT shut off the computer while the process is running.
Hope this helped, read up about it on HP's website from the link I provided and post back and let us know if this worked for you.

Hello, You can reset your password by logging into windows in safe mode,it wont ask for a password when you do that and once you are into windows you can go and reset or remove your password from control panel. To know how to get into windows safe mode and reset the password please follow the instructions from the below link, hope it helped.
You didn't say what version of windows you use. With some versions you can bypass the password in the safe mode. When the computer starts press F8 until it starts to beep. This gives you the option of starting in safe mode. When you get to the screen where you should put in the password you get the option to log in as administrator with no password required. Log in, go to control panel, find your username and change or delete the password.
If you cannot get in this way there is a program available from http://www.windows-password-recovery.net/ which costs 36 euros or 49 dollars. When you pay for it you get the option to download an image file which you burn to a cd. You can then boot any windows computer with this cd and it gives you the option to delete the log on password without going into windows. You then remove the cd and restart windows with no password.
There's a couple things you can do first try this:
1. This one works for some windows computers
Restart your computer and enter safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly while the computer is starting. Once prompted hit safe mode on your screen. Once inside go to Control Panel > User Accounts > and change the password on your account or remove it.
2. This one is if all else fails
If #1 doesn't work you can use this company - www.loginrecovery.com
First download their software off the website and burn it onto a CD using Nero or another CD burning program. They have detailed instructions on the website as well as some free CD burning programs for download. Next Restart the PC and boot to the CD Drive. Next transcribe all the letters and numbers that appear on the screen to a piece of paper. Lastly enter the numbers and letters into the box on their website where you are prompted and they will tell you if the password is hackable. You can choose between free service which is 72 hours or expedited service which is $30 and 10 minutes. I've used them in the past and they work wonders for me!
You should actually have 2 accounts. One is called Administrator and
appears when you start your operating system in safe mode. It has no
password by default so you should still be able to access it.
Restart your computer and keep hitting 'F8' until you're prompted with
a menu. Select something along the lines of 'Start Windows In Safe
Mode' and Windows will load. Just login to the administrator account
and remove the password.
It might also be a good idea to put a password on the admin account and keep it somewhere safe.
Keep in mind though, by removing the password, some of your settings will be reset.
Let me know how you get on.
