I installed the thermostat via instructions. The fan will not turn off and even when all of the thermostat wires are disconnected, it continues to run

If the thermostat wires are in fact disconnected, there is either a short between the Red and Green wires (wires of any color connected to the R and G terminals) between the thernostat and the furnace OR the fan relay itself could have inadvertantly stuck closed.

My bet is the short happened when the wires were pushed back into the wall opening right behind the subbase.

Try removing ALL wires again and removing the sub-base from the wall and separating the wires back for a few inches (if length is available). You may find the fan shuts off.

The thermostat although programmed to heat to 70 will not shut off and keeps going until ridiculously hot.

Are you confident that it is the thermostat? I would first try would be to disconnect the wire on the R terminal of the thermostat and see if the heating system stops. If it does, then you have confirmed that the thermostat is in fact the issue. Replace it. If it continues to run on, you have a problem with the wiring or control board of the heater.

Heating will not go off when timer says so

Hi, you must be referring to the times you have programmed into your thermostat. Now, if the heater will not shut off at all with the stat, remove the cover and next section which requires a small screw driver and remove this section, this is the stat. You will now see the wiring and subbase. If you remove the red wire and it shuts off, the stat is faulty. If it continues to run, you have a wire touching somewhere in the wall from stat back to heater. I just wanted you to know this as I believe you are just having a problem with the program not shutting off the stat when it is time to. If you are sure that you have the program set up to shut off at a certain time and temperature, and it does not, then you also have a faulty stat. If this stat has batteries, replace them with fresh ones first. If this does the trick, then great. If not, the stat is faulty if you have to shut it off manually and should be replaced.

I have a Rheem Heat Pump and a White-Rogers Thermostat. Right now my heater will heat the room to the exact temperature I have it set to, but it never shuts off. It does not continue heating, so I can only...

Try checking the switch, you may need to have it replaced. Your heating system is still okey, but the
fan continues running even when switched off, Is this
what you mean? Then, have your switch checked, especially the electrical line going to the fan.
