Intel GeForce4 MX420 64 MB W/TV Graphic Card

Hi Can You Help Me Please :) ??

By Bomber - usenet poster

My problem is this i have a Intel Celeron 1.4Ghz computer with 60GB
HD, 768MB RAM, and a Nvidia GeForce 4 MX420 PCI, when i play most
games they hang totally and i have to restart my computer from the
mains supply, i have found out that this problem only occurs when i
use a graphics card. If i use then On-Board graphics chip that came
with the computer the games don't hang. I have tested this on two
graphics cards (GeForce 4 MX420 PCI) and a (GeForce 2 MX 200 PCI)games
hang totally when either card is in use, but not when on-board chip is
in use(i use PCI cause i have no AGP)please can someone
help me, Thanx :)

Yes i updated my bios, and with the new bios it gave me the option to
disable on-board VGA which i have done but it still hasnt worked, so
im guessing that my MB is not compatible with Nvidia based cards

TY for your time

Be sure you have fully disabled the onboard video. It takes more than just
checking the box marked "disable hardware" from device manager. You must
enter bios and also disable it from there. I'm not sure about your
computer, but some will not allow to disable from bios. I just installed an
ATI video card in a Compaq and it was to say the least, a nightmare. Good
luck my friend...

P.S i have also Updated my BIOS and fully disabled the On-Board
Grachics Chip, but still no difference. Could it be that Nvidia is not
compatible with my computer?

Thanx for your help
