A SONY fuse named N 15 D ?

By Perkins - usenet poster

I am repairing a friens CD player and found that a fuse is blown.
It has the markings N 15 D and look like a small signal plastic
housed transistor ( TO 92 ) just with two legs ( of cause ).
I have made a short across and the CD works, but I owe my friend
to replace it with something.

Any good ideas ?

My ECG lists N15 as 'IC Protector, .6 A' So, probably .6 A fuse. An
IC protector is just a fancy name for a fast blow fuse in a funny package.

I think you will find that a N15 fuse is rated at 600ma

N & F type fuses, you multiply the last 2 digits by 40...

Msybe but if you check ECG, an N15 (without the D) is a .6 A IC Protector.

What you have is typically called an IC protector. The N15 is rated
at 600 mA. You can buy a replacment from MCM Electronics at 1-800-543-4330.
The part number is ICP-N15, and the price is 95 cents.

Of course, since MCM has a minimum order of $20, you might want to find
a few other things to add to your order :-)

This is a 1.5 amp I.C. protect fuse. They are readily available from
any electronics parts supplier, except Radio Shack of course.
