    I have the same problem.
    Model GSD530T60WW
    SN TL7765225

I took the cover off and I can not understand what holds the soap door shut?
Also the three armed dark plastic (GE Part number 828 in the parts manual) looks like it might have a small piece broken off the hub.

    Thanks
    Scott

The model number is located in the frame where the door closes against. Perhpas later you will hav etime to open the dishwasher and get this information for me. I need to see how your detergent dispenser latches and I can only do this with the model number....

Thanks for the model number. On your particular unit you can only latch the unit in the off position. If it still does not latch, open the door and remove all thr screws you see. Normal seven of them. Now, split the door and take a close look at the locking mechanism. Did something come loose? Is the spring in tact...Play with it and see how it works,...then what must be done to repair. It is really a simple system and has been tried and tested for many years in the GE Dishwashing Units. Good Luck, Eric Campion

How do I fix the soap dispenser cap

Chances are the plastic catch broke or wore off. If that's the case, you have to replace the entire soap dispenser.

Detergent dispenser not closing

split the door inner from the outer - screws round the periphery. you will need a multimeter check if there is a supply to the detergent dispenser when there should not be ie during rinse and hold program or before starting the cycle. if there is a supply then the module is faulty. if not then fault probably lies with the dispenser itself. having split the door you can see how to remove. there are two methods of fixing. most common is six screws holding clamps. some are a push and click fit

Not sure of the model number, but we have a built in GE dishwasher with SmartDispense that is about a year old. This morning, my girlfriend accidentally poured the wrong detergent into the...

if you have a cold wash, you can try that, don't use oil, you'll have a huge mess. cold water tends to break up the detergent, not expand it as hot or warm water will. Run several cycles to ensure a well cleared system. Turn the heat off as well. you could also try to use a sprayer if it will reach into the machine with cold water to diffuse the suds. then run the rinse cycle, which will drain the machine
Hope this helps

I have a bosch dishwasher model number SGS0902GB/05. I use tablets instead of detergent. I put the tablet in the Dispenser and close the lid, noproblem. I then set the programme and shut the door, I...

Hello Andrew,

I'm more than happy to give step-by-step instructions for replacing the detergent dispenser, however it's not cheap (about £50) and it probably doesn't need to be replaced. Some of the smaller components for the dispenser are available separately, so it would be better to work out what's wrong with it, before replacing any parts - or the entire unit.

The dispenser may be receiving an erroneous signal from the controller to open when the dishwasher is in delay start mode. To check this, switch the power off, insert a tablet in the dispenser, and slide the door closed. Make sure it clicks shut fully (push on the arrow on the door)and then wait for a few minutes to see whether it opens.

If the tablet will stay in the dispenser with the power off, there is nothing wrong with the dispenser. If it opens with the power off, you may just need a new dispenser door or a spring. Please try this simple test, then get back to me for further assistance.

BElectric

Soap not dissolving in dishwasher. stays in compartment

Hi, dishwasher detergent stays in the compartment because Bosch has designed a gap at the top of the compartment that feeds water onto the detergent before the cover opens. This has possibly been done to soften up deteregent tablets and help them dissolve.

The result is a solidified mass of wet detergent that doesn't come out of the compartment when it opens, and slowly dissolves onto the dishes leaving them coated with alkaline detergent at the end of the cycle. The residual lump of detergent is in the compartment or on the bottom of the dishwasher (refer photo).

The solution is to remove the compartment cover and look for the small gap at the top of the compartment as in the photos. Clean the surface and fill the gap with epoxy glue. This will keep the detergent dry until the cover opens, allowing the detergent to fall freely out of the compartment._1583.jpg
