Question about Refrigerators
Amana fridge freazer model BR 18VW: freazer works but is starting to ice around the door and top. The fridge is not cooling. It seems that the fan may be faulty as the sound goes off for long periods. Then comes on for a while and the fridge starts cooling then it warms up again when I presume the fan goes off. Do we need a new fan and is this fixable? What part(s)do we need. Will it help to manually defrost? Could the defrost or thermostat functions be at fault? Thanks Jen
Hi Jen, I would suspect the thermostat. The fact that the fan is still coming on and off is because it is more than likely getting frozen or clogged with ice making it stop and in turn cooling stops. Yep I would start with changing the thermostat.
