Are you saying that you're having problems when they're both physically connected with Ethernet cables? Or are you able to get the wireless to work with one and not the other? I know this sounds like a simple question, but I was nearly pulling my hair out with one Router until we figured out that the Gateway device(modem) was not connected to the 'Internet' port, just one of the others and one of the PC's was connected to that 'Internet' port and the other was not. Er, one works but the other doesn't.... blah

Sounds like you have an access point rather than a router, what model is your unit?

Im trying to get my xbox live nat type to open i have the linksys wrt54gx2 router with srx 200 please help my by giving instructions on fixing this problem.

Once you have all the wireless settings of the router, you are ready to connect the play station or the x-box to the wireless network.

On the x-box you will need to connect to the wireless network now.
Open the main Interface of the X-Box.

1. In the Xbox Dashboard, go to My Xbox and open System Settings.

2. Select Network Settings, Configure Network.

3. On the Basic Settings tab, select your wireless settings.

4. Select the name (SSID) of your wireless network. If your router isn't broadcasting your network's name, select Specify Unlisted Network and enter the name.

5. If your network has wireless security, enter your WEP or WPA key.

6. Try to connect to Xbox LIVE again.

Trouble connecting to the internet on X-box ,Play station or WII ?

You can try to reduce the MTU settings on the router. if the MTU on the router is set to 1500 then change the MTU to 1365. Also you will need to open the ports on the router.

For X-box port numbers are - 53, 80-88, 3074 .

I just installed a linksys wireless-N home router and I have a netopia wireless usb 3-D adapter. I have the adapter connected to my desk top computer downstairs and the wireless router and modem is...

I'm not 100% clear on what you are asking ... I can't get a clear picture of your network in my head.

Your wireless router and your wireless computer should communicate if they are within 300 feet of each other, in a perfect world. If there is aluminum backed insulation between the two locations, expect significant degration of signal.

Now then, your USB adapter is connected to what? your computer and cat 5 wire to the router? Are there two routers, a standard router + a wireless?

You should have something similar to this - remove any parts from my explaination that you dont have, Deal?

Cable/FIOS/DSL "modem" - wire router (connected through the "up link") network devices connected to the router by Cat 5 or 6 ethernet cable. Wireless router, connected up link to router port OR (peer to peer) wireless router standard port connected to router standard port. Network devices connected to the wireless ports. Within 300 feet, any wireless device you may have.

If you are having trouble making the settings stick, may I recommend you give Network Magic a try. Free to try for a week, it is a teriffic Network Management tool that will help you with connection troubles, security and sharing. After the 7 days, they allow you to continue to use the product with some features disabled. You may find you want those features or not. I use the full paid pro version and I love it.

NM is a Cisco product as is your Linksys router, BTW.

Be aware wire networks can work up to 1 gig and are 100% secure to prying eyes. Wireless run atout 10 M and are not necessarily secure. So what? If speed counts, run the wire

Can't get a wireless connection from my Linksys WRT54GC router

I think you have the router setup to not broadcast the SSID. Go to your router settings to change this option. By not broadcasting, it enhances security for your wireless network, because it looks like there's no network. I hope this helps!
