The grinder isn't working...the blade isn't spinning.

chances are your motor is burned out or the bearing has gone, it would be less hassle to replace the grinder than repair it. in any case blade coffee grinders are not the best thing to use, they create an inconsistent grind leading to a bad extraction, if youre grinding for anything upto a filter machine then a basic burr grinder will do, if its espresso then youll need a ceramic hand grinder like the porlex mini or be prepared to spend serious money on an electric burr grinder (mine, a mazzer super jolly was over £300)

I've had my Mazzer Mini for about 3 years. I grind about 1/2 lb per week. Today I went to grind and when I turned the timer switch nothing happened. Yes it is plugged in. I think it makes a popping...

1 check the supply wire to swich change if it is not ok 2 chek the swich change if it is not ok 3 if it is automatic check microswiches(one where ground coffee comes out and other below doser) clean from coffee upper swich and try. it block sometime from ground coffee 4 check the windings of electromotor give grinder for if it is not ok 5 check condensator change if it is not ok 6 try to spin the burrs by hand, check if they are not blocked. change bearings if it is not ok
if you need to change bearings you need advice how to open the motor.

How to change mazzer luigi srl "major" blades

Start by closing the hopper and grinding all the beans through the unit. Remove the hopper and look for any lock screws on the top of the adjustment collar (or ring). Remove the screws if present and turn the adjustment collar clock-wise (coarser) until it comes off. Pull out the upper burr holder. You then need to take out the three screws that hold on each burr (blades) and remove them. Then you want to use a shop vac to clean out all of the grounds. Make sure there is no coffee on the burr holders that could cause the new burrs to not be level. Assemble the new burrs on to the holders. Take a dry towel and clean the threads of the collar and the threads inside the mill. You don't want any coffee grounds on the threads, that could cause the adjustment collar to lock up and may damage the threads which can be extremely expensive. Use a small amount of lithium grease on the threads and reassemble. Screw the adjustment collar all the way down to where the burrs are touching. Then back it up 1.5 numbers (12-14 little bumps on the outer edge of the collar). This is a good "starting point". Pull some shots and adjust as needed.

Burrs spin but no grinding

Try this, remove the bean hopper, and vac out the burr chamber, then put 1 tablespoon white rice in the burr chamber and cover with hand and turn grinder on, if the rice grinds, then your grind might have been set too fine. Turn the grinder towards fine until you can barely turn the burr nut, you will feel them touching, then turn course about 16 notches (do not use numbers, use the small notches around the rim), that should give you a great starting point for your grind.

Hello. My Mazzer grinder doser Super Jolly (used

It could be that the switch failed, try this to check remove the top part or the grinder burrs and turn it on, if it turns then, grinder was jammed if not switch needs to be replaced.

Mini mazzer grind doesnt adjust

Can the silver collar turn? If yes then adjust, clean out all the grounds then grind for 3 secs, clean grounds then 10 secs(that will give you about 12-16 grams for a test shot). The 3 secs grind and clean is for the coffee that is already ground with the previous setting, there is still a small amount between the burrs and the chute.

The mazzer mini doesn't grind

Either the burrs are set too fine, or the gate for the bean hopper is closed.

Cleaning grinding blades

mazzers have 3 springs in grinder body, each one support for upper burr holder. check for them , if it is not the case than consider that the spring could come with coffee. often we see stones and metal parts geting between burrs.
clean it again and look good for 3 springs , if they are in their place, close the burrs to finest than go back for half of circle and grind coffee.

I own the super jolly model grinder

Youmay have have cross threaded the grinder!!! Stop at once! Mazzer grinders have no detents!!! Mazzer grinders are reverse threaded. The way to put on a burr carrier (the thing you screw down) is to (in this case) screw it clockwise until it click down into the threads then screw it counter clockwise. It should feel smooth and silky!

Also the mazzer grinders have 4 sprincs that push up on the burr carrier. If I recall correctly you can push down on a collar sticking up from the center of the adjusting ring to neutralize the pressure of those springs.

If I had cross threaded a grinder I would first be a bit sad. Then I would lube the threads with a touch of mineral oil, bite the bulet and back the burr carrier off. If I dinged up the threads on the carrier I would clean them up with a metric thread file, If I dinged up the threads on the reciever I would have a machien shop clean them up with a metric thread rake. Try not to remove too much metal, though with the springs stabilizing the burr carrier agains the adjusting collar a mazzer cna take more abuse of this type than most
