Yes, you can use both.
The router usually broadcast more IP adresses the an end user would have need for.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

My router type is WRT54GR and does not connect my Philips TV

1. Make sure your WRT54GR router is operating in wireless mode.
2. (a) if your Philips TV has Wi-Fi built-in, go to Step 3.
(b) if your Philips TV does not have Wi-Fi built-in, check to see if it has one (or more - unlikely) USB port. If it does, check with Philips technical support if that port will accept a USB-based universal Wi-Fi adapter. If they say yes, go buy one and plug it into the USB port on your TV and go to Step 3.. I bought a universal Wi-Fi adapter for my Sony Bravia TV at Walmart a few years ago for $50. You can also ask Philips support if they can recommend one certifified for your TV model.
3. Use the Menu or Settings button on your TV's remote to set up a network connection. Follow the on-screen instructions or use the TV's manual.

If the suggestions in 2(a) and 2(b) do not apply to your situation, there may be a third solution: using a powerline networking kit, but this is more complicated, costlier and requires that your TV be equipped with an Ethernet jack.

Hope this helps.

Linksy WRT54GR Router - Invalid Wireless MAC Address [EN] [FR]

[Englisch]
Hi there,

i have been troubled with the configuration of the linksys router WRT54GR when trying to add my wireless devices to the wireless client table.

First I found following hint:
http://forums.linksys.com/linksys/board/message?board.id=Wireless_Routers&message.id=46517

then did the following which solved my problem!

I entered the MAC addresses of my wireless devices into the client table and made sure that all remaining entries where not of kind 00:00:00:00:00:00.
Apart from my valid MAC addresses (2 devices) i just had to enter 00:00:00:00:00:03, 00:00:00:00:00:04 and so on! The last entry in my table is
00:00:00:00:00:16.

That's it. Cheers

[French]

Bonjour,

Voila!

WRT54GR not connecting for wireless

To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.
To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Drivers 4 Linksys BEFW11S4 ver. 4

Your wired network adapter will talk to a wired router without a driver for the router on your computer. Your wireless adapter likewise will talk to your wireless router without a driver for the wireless router on your computer. Your wired and wireless adapters however do require drivers and the wireless adapter can require configuration. Please provide the manufacturer and model of your computer so I can learn about your wireless adapter and we can work to get it connected to the router.

Do you currently have your router connected to your internet service providers connection and do you have another wired or wireless computer successfully using this device to access the internet?

Getting better signal quality on wireless network?

Under the tab 'wireless' find the strint that says 'Channels', and change to another one (anyone) and then give it a day to see if you lose connection, if you do, go back and change it again. Try downloading the latest drivers and software. The WRT55AG and WRT54AG are known to drop signals. These routers are like cell phones, you have to find a good spot for them.
