Crosley model ced5563rq, checked continuty on limiter fuse, door switch, off/on switch, checked heating coil, hi/low thermostats, circuit breakers and voltage. all seem to be ok. the dryer will not start....

What you still the actul circuits on the timer, the thing that can make a dryer not start are things you hav ealready checked plus also the timer&motor, and perhaps a belt switch i could not find your actual model number to see if it has a belt switch but lots of brand use a switch that cuts motor curcuit when belt is broke, but as i said it also could be timer or motor

When I push the start button, nothing happens. I have checked the breaker and the plug, both are OK. I just completed drying a load of clothes.

I have a bosch wta2000 dryer and it has stopped heating up. I have checked the cut off switch on the rear but it has not clicked out. Can you help suggest what is wrong and how easy is it to repair?

Check your breakers. Forcefully turn the curcuit OFF, and on again. If this solves the issue you may not have enough power to run the unit, and this requires a licensed electrician to resolve, as it is NOT just a larger breaker (fire hazard).
When the breaker trips, often the motor protion of the dryer still works.

I turned off my curcuit breaker today, and now my dryer will not power on.... the washer is fine though. Any suggestions?

The dryer requires ~220 volts AC to operate the heater which means a double breaker for the dryer. Push the breaker pair off, then back on, and try the dryer again. If nothing and you have access to a voltmeter (or know someone who does), measure the slanted blades at the socket for ~220 volts. If nothing after trying the above, then you may have a defective breaker (they are sold as a coupled pair). Hope this helps!

My g.e electric dryer won't start and the light bulb is not coming on mod # dbxr 463

Since the light is not coming on either, check the curcuit breaker first. It can be half tripped and look like it is good. That should be the problem. If not, then check the power at the outlet and at the dryer. Turn power OFF when taking cover off dryer. 220v Hurts.

Tumble dryer spins, but doesn't heat up

You need an ohm meter to do needed checks. Unplug dryer from power,,, then look for sensors and locate the heat coils. Using the ohm meter, check each device by connecting meter to the posts ( your looking for an open curcuit) Note that when you touch the leads of the ohm meter together, the gage will move? This is closed condition, and if the needle did not move, this is called "open". When you find a sensor or heat coil that reads open, that part is bad.
Now make sure there is not a tripped breaker in the fuse panel of the house,,, because even though the dryer is 220 volt,,, 110 volt runs the tumble motor while the other 110 volt curcuit runs the heat side ( so one will work without the other)
