LG Vu -how can I tranfer pictures?

I purchase my LG Vu about 3 weeks ago. I have several pictures I want to transfer to my computer. I purchased a data cable online and tried it out. The phone screen shows one message that says "Connecting as Music Sync...", immediately after that another message comes on "Insert Memory Card for Music Sync Service".
First, I had to download the drivers off the internet. Second, I have no idea what memory card it's asking for~ any memory card? Third, would I be able to transfer pictures and videos with this cable? I thought that's what a DATA TRANSFER cable would do, not just for music. My phone before this one was a SonyEricson phone where I was able to download a PC Suite where I could manage, backup and synchronize my data. Could any one help me with this phone? I'm really frustrated since I just purchased the cable and is not doing what I thought. I really appreciate any input...thanks in advance!

Thanks so much, I'm currently waiting for my memory card to arrive (ordered online). It's a disappointment that pictures/videos can only be sent via Bluetooth~ very disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really appreciate the input, you're awesome!

Yes, i just got off the phone with LG VU Tech support. Yes, only way to transfer pictures is one by one from the handset to the memory card then to your computer using a data cable that is not sold with the phone. Proper planning is only answer. I put in a complaint to the LG company saying that they need to openly disclose this in their manuals and also update their models to address this feature. Wouldn't you think a select all to move or copy the pictures to the card is all it would take? Write or call them to complain but overall the phone fits my needs. Just an inconvenience if you need to use your phone for picture taking. I suggest to continue to use it just for showing pictures you put on the phone or for emergencies.

Not sure which version you have, but you can send via blue tooth to your lap top.

It is quite a bummer, but you have to select one picture at a time, go to options, select move, choose memory card, select paste and then when you have moved all of your pictures over to your memory card you can get them on your computer via the data cable. I miss my sony!

Oh, and you have to set your phone to mass storeage. Data only shows the folders and they are empty. Good luck

It tells me my memory card is full, and switches back to handset. My memory card is using only 15% of the available memory, so it is by no means full.

I was only able to send pictures ti my Vu via Bluetooth.

It takes a MicroSD expansion card, which goes into the back where the sim card lives. there is a spot for it near the sim.

This worked for me. From the VU menu select the files tab, then the pictures, then select the picture from the list, the next screen has options, select "Send Via", then "Bluetooth". (make sure your bluetooth is turned on and your PC has the bluetooth enabled. )Once it is synced up it will ask for password and permission and and then copy the picture to the bluetooth directory on the PC. No memory card needed.

Simply call the lg support line and they will help .call on a phone other than your vu so you can access it while they solve the problem . its just a matter of sending your pictures to your memory card in your phone, they will tell you how to do it

Make sure that you set the phone to be accessible as an external drive, then you should be able to do any transfering. also, you could always just e-mail them to yourself as attachments and download them directly to your computer

Having trouble putting music on LG VU

If it's plugged into the computer it will charge still. The phone doesn't come up and ask if you want to sync to data or music? If you have Windows Media Player open that up and go to the sync tab. Hopefully the program will find the phone.

Transfer pictures from computer to lg vu phone??

The easiest way is to put the phone's memory card in the PC's card reade and place pics in the image folder on the card. BUT, beware that the phone can read only upto a certain resolution. If your pics on the computer are of greater resolution than that then the phone will not be able to read them.

Phone shuts off

if you droped the Vu than you could have damaged the insides and that might cause the repeating of it shuting off but a easyer way to get music onto your Vu is to get a Micro SD and get an adaptor for it and put music on that and then plug the SD into your phone its alot easyer and faster than useing the cord

hope this helps
