During the boot process you will see on the screen to press delete to enter setup Press and hold delete during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaultsor load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart then once you have your computer running then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive hope this helps
Your windows is corrupted the best way is to turn off when turn on keep pressing the "F12" button insert windows disc provided with your laptop highlight cd rom dvd rom ( or something similar ) by using down arrow on keyboard press enter follow instructions to install fresh copy
If you purchased your I6000 after 2005, then it still has the PC Restore option. For Dell system with Windows XP, your can restore your computer to factory settings by pressing CTRL+F11 when you see the page after the big DELL Logo. It's a BLACK SCREEN with a blue bar at the top and it has www.dell.com written in white. Usually this screen will show up in between the DELL Logo and Windows Logo.
Your instalation is screwed. Get the original disks that came with the laptop and reinstall everything and you should be good to go. Dont forget to change the bios settings to boot from cdrom/dvdrom first so as when you power up, it loads from the cd, not the hard drive.
First, can it boot into BIOS setup? This is DEL, Esc, F1, F2, or
whatever key your user manual instructs; press the requisite key

Second, can it boot from an emergency recovery disk from the floppy, or a boot CD from the CD drive?
