Question about Printers & Copiers

My HP printer prints fine with single sheet printing. When I try to print checks using a forms leader whcih makes it a double thick sheet the print layout moves to the top of the page whcih does not correspond with the format of the check. Additionally, this printer use to work with forms leaders just fine until today.

The paper type setting suggestion did not address my problem and I was not given any advice as to HOW to adjust the "paper shutter" whatever that is.

  • rickg856 Mar 02, 2009

So you are apparently not reading the description of my posting. This printer using these settings worked just fine until today. Additionally, the size of the checks is the same as the size of a normal sheet of paper.
So send me to some one who is of drinking age and who actually can read and knows more than me or credit my card back now.

  • rickg856 Mar 02, 2009

Credit my card back. You apparently don't know any more than me.

  • rickg856 Mar 03, 2009

Obviously you didn't read the description string either. This printer was working fine with these settings until yesterday. So if you think I should change or check those settings you should know how to do that and be able to tell me how. Otherwise refund my money.

Windows will sometimes change settings on you. It's the ghost in the machine. Make sure you check -all- settings, including the ones found under Start, Settings, Printers and Faxes.

If you decide to re-install your printer driver, make sure you first uninstall it in the Add or Remove Programs found in the Control Panel.

Hi

What you should first try is a system restore on your computer to a point before yesterday and see if it will still work. You can do this in the Control Panel under Performance and Maintenance. If that doesn't help, then try uninstalling the printer, deleting it off the computer and disconnecting and unplugging it. Then set it all up again from scratch. One of these should get it working properly again.

Please reset the printer unplug all connections from the back of it then wait 15 minutes. After that plug everything back in and check to see if it is working.

You need to adjust printing layout setting in printer software properties to print checks.

If you do not provide page layout then printer will prints any thing assuming that page is A3 or A4 size.
Please adjust page size as per check size for correct printing.

Check the configuration of the printer, make sure that it is selected to print on checks, as it most likely thinks it is still printing onto a normal-sized sheet of paper.

Please check the paper type settings on the Properties of the printer. Go to Printers and Faxes. You may need to adjust the paper shutter

How can I do a 2 sided print

DOUBLE SIDED PRINTING USING A SINGLE SIDED PRINTER
If your printer does not have a duplex unit then the printer cannot print double sided pages automatically.
You can print double sided pages but you have to do it one page at a time.
First print Page 1 then place the page back into the paper tray, but turn the page upside down and the print Page 2.
Then print page 3 on one side then page 4 on the other side and repeat for the rest of the document.
I suggest you try a test page first, to get the printing the right way up on both sides of the page so it reads correctly.

Preprinted 4 part paper crunching up when being printed in epson lq680 printer

Mustafa:

The printer is not meant to use multi-copy carbon invoices. The cause of your problem is the double-feed prevention pad below the paper pickup roller. When the first form is fed, the double feed prevention pad will stop multiple paper feeds. With multi-page carbons, the paper feed roller is trying to feed the form, and is pulling the top page of the form into the feed rollers while the double-feed prevention pad is stopping the bottom form from feeding and the top and bottom pages are sliding because of the carbon paper between the sheets. The only solution that I know of is to buy a printer with a tractor feed and pre-printed fan-fold forms with tractor feed strips on the sides of the forms.

My printer jammed when I tried to print a Tshirt transfer.

Most Tshirt transfer paper is fairly thick you could try a different brand and double check that you are printing on the transfer paper not the thin separtion sheets used to stop the paper sticking together.

1 Answer

C6180 will not print labels as set out in the avery template. will bunch up as they go down sheet

Step 1 : Change the print settings
The print settings of the HP All-in-One can be customized to handle nearly any print task.
Before changing the print settings, decide whether to change the settings for the current print job only, or to make the settings the default for all future print jobs. How print settings are displayed depends on whether to apply the change to all future print jobs or just to the current print job
Change the print settings for all future jobs:
In the HP Solution Center, click Settings , point to Print Settings , and then click Printer Settings .
Make changes to the print settings and click OK . Change the print settings for the current job:
On the File menu in the software program, click Print . Make sure that the HP All-in-One is the selected printer.
Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box. Depending on the software program, this button might be called Properties , Options , PrinterSetup , or Printer .
Select the appropriate options for the print job by using the features available on the Paper/Quality , Finishing , Effects , Basics , and Color tabs.
Click OK to close the Properties dialog box. Click Print or OK to begin printing.
Step 2 : Print with 210 x 297 mm (8.5 x 11 inch) labels
The HP All-in-One can be used with any software program designed for printing.
This document contains basic information about using the HP All-in-One to print on labels using a software program. For additional information, such as printing a poster, printing multiple pages on a single sheet, and more, see the onscreen Help that came with the HP software.
Follow these steps to print on labels:
· Make sure to load labels in the input tray. Always use letter or A4 label sheets designed for use with HP inkjet devices (such as HP inkjet labels).
· Make sure the labels are no more than two years old. Labels on older sheets might peel off when the paper is pulled through the HP All-in-One, causing paper jams.
  • Fan the stack of labels to make sure no pages are sticking together. Place a stack of label sheets on top of full-size sheet of plain paper in the paper tray, label side down. Do not insert labels one sheet at a time.
    1. On the File menu in the software program, click Print . Select the HP All-in-One as the printer. To change settings, click the button that opens the Properties dialog box.
    2. Select the appropriate options for the print job by using the features available on the Paper/Quality , Finishing , Effects , Basics , and Color tabs.
    3. Click OK to close the Properties dialog box. Click Print or OK to begin printing.

Printer prints all pages on one sheet of paper

what application are you printing from? also, can you do a print preview to see if there are more than one page? if that works, then your printer mechanism is not following the driver information from the print queue manager.

Label Printing

I had the same issue when using Avery labels, here's what resolved it for me.

Go to Control Panel, Printers, go to the active default, right mouse click, click Printing Prefrences..., change the drop down "Type is:" to 'Other Photo Paper" and apply.

You should then be good to go!
