Genius g540

Hello,
that logitech "G540" model does'nt exist. it could be "F540".
from the logitech support site: "Since the F540 is not designed as a USB audio device for PCs, not all system-based functions may work correctly.", "You'll have to select the F540 as a USB audio device for input and output within your operating system.".
Have you tried directly with the 3,5 cable? it work? wich o.s. are you using? do you select the audio device as audio input/output in windows sound setup? eventually disable all the audio devices except the headset one.
if none of that works and the product is under warranty i suggest to contact the customer care. in case you can try to sell it to a PS3 owner. bye

Hello Danial,

Someone on FixYa had the same problem with the username of "Viphunk". I've never encountered this problem when using an Xbox 360 controller for the PC. Viphunk mentioned that he "accessed his control panel" and fixed it. Maybe one of your controllers are configured, and one is not. I imagine you would do the following, but I'm not guarenteed.

1. Locate Start, and click "Control Panel".
2. Once at the Control Panel menu, double click "Game Controllers".
3. (Guess)-Click the name of the controller you are currently using, and click "properties".
4. You might find something in there that has your answer, or of course go back to Control Panel screen, and click "Sounds and Audio Devices, and explore in there.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.

PC sound problem when using xbox360 controllers

I should have fished around a bit more before posting that I have the same problem.

Go into your control panel
Double Click the "Sounds and Audio Devices"
Select the "Audio" tab
It will show that your "Sound Playback" and "Sound Recording" default device is set to "Headset (XBOX 360 For Windows)" in the drop down menu
In that same drop down select "Sigma Tel Audio" or what ever your regular default is
Click the check box at the bottom left of the window that states, "Use only default devices"
Then click apply and viola you should be able to use your 360 controller with your pc sound

I'm only guessing here, but if you want to use the 360 headset you may have to change these settings again.

Xbox 360 Vontroller makes my audio fuzzy

same problem here. searching for a solution to this problem is like running around in circles. I'm getting to the point where I'm about to go out and buy a decent sound card and hope it works. If it doesn't I'm going to return this POS and go back to good old Logitech equipment.

Xbox 360 Controller for Windows causes fuzzy sound

Found a solution! Came here to post it, since I could not find the solution ANYWHERE on the internet...

Using an Xbox 360 controller or any other Xbox 360 peripheral with 95% of USB sound cards or headsets will produce HORRIBLE sound input and output. It sounds like a robot has swallowed and spat back out the waveforms. Even if the 360 peripheral is removed any USB audio devices plugged in after the fact will still sound corrupted until a fresh reboot without the 360 peripheral plugged in.

I believe that the problem is somehow linked to the "generic root hub" driver, which hasn't been updated since 2001, thanks M$.

The solution (pick one of 3):
As long as the 360 peripheral is on it's own internal virtual root hub it will not interfere with other devices. You can force it to use another root hub by doing ONE of the following:
1) Fill up your usb ports with other devices till it shifts to using a secondary root hub, then plug in the 360 peripheral. This could take up to 10 USB things, depending on your motherboard and the maximum devices on each root hub.
2) Use an extra internal PCI-USB card for the 360 peripheral.
3) Use an extra external USB hub for the 360 peripheral.

NOTE: A reboot is usually required to clear up the driver's confusion.

Fuzzy sound when plugged in

The Problem is C-media doesn't have proper driver support. It seems to be the on board sound card. The only real fix is to get a different sound card. Hopefully c-media will eventuall address the problem in a new driver.
