Question about Refrigerators
SOURCE: Leaking Whirlpool refrigerator
I had a problem with water accumulating on the first shelf and and underneath the drawers in the bottom of the refrigerator. I traced it back to the overflow cup that is located inside the refrigerator in the middle of the top. NOT inside the freezer, but rather in the the refrigerator portion.
Unload the top shelf and place some paper towels near the back of the shelf to catch about a 1/2 cup of water. Gently grab the tab on the overflow cup and slide it towards you. I am willing to bet there is a large plug of mold inside the pipe on the cup that has been blocking the drainage.
Now is a good time to clean up the water under the drawers in the bottom of the fridge and while you are at it, clean the shelves.

The bar goes into slots right above the drawers and under the shelf above the drawers. It's not obvious to see at first. It's at the very front of the shelf. You have to slide one end of the bar in first then the other side. The bar sticks out a little on each side so it can sit in the groves on the side walls of the fridge. For the longest we tried to put it underneath the drawers even though we knew it wasn't right. Hope this helps. The Whirlpool website can give you a parts manual if you enter the model number.
