Serious Issue re ActiveSync 4.5, HTC Touch, WM6

There are over 116 posts of this same problem on Windows Forums
yet no one has the solution.... Microsoft doesn't even acknowledge their own error code!!! It's unbelievable to pay the kind of money for these products (HTC, Spring, Microsoft) and to not have support. Here is what I copied from another victim... mine's the same..

I've been experiencing the same issues, any resolutions anyone can provide would be much appreciated.

Windows XP SP2
Active Sync 4.5
HTC Touch (WM 6)
USB Connection
Outlook 2003

Getting this error "Attention Required Error code 80883001"... pops up almost everytime I try to sync is getting incredibly frustrating...

Here's the rest of the error code....
"There has been a change made on your server that requires you re-synchronize all items on your device. All changes made since your last successful sync will be lost. Do you wish to continue?"

I have spent hours and hours on this. I'm ready to throw it away! Please help!
Since i downloaded Activ Sync 4.5 with HTC HD i'm having problems with sync. I always receive an error message "there has been a change made on your server that requires you to resynchronize all items on your device" and i lose all stored data. sometimes activ sync keeps on going on and on with ending. I was advised that i should replace it with activ sunc version 4. appreciate any advice.

    Hello eveyone!!!

same problem occured when i was trying to sync with outlook 2007 and attempted to add more folders to sync and change size of mails.

i believe that re-configuring the phone with the computer after backing up all data should work.

shall feedback once that is done.

By what i have seen when i have that problem i have deleted the partnership from active sync and then recreated the partnership, be sure that you have all your info backed up though because it will wipe it all off. That should help if not let me know

If you open up active sync and click on tools and then options do you see anything regarding a exchange server. If you do is anything check marked such as task, memos, calander, contacts, or email?

1. Download "ActiveSync" from this link for Windows XP users or "Mobile Device Center" from this link for Windows Vista (or above) users.
2. Once downloaded, open the file to run it.

Htc touch hd not recognised and will not install to pc. running on windows xp

You need to first install activesync, this will then install the USB drivers for XP. Once this is done, then connect your device and your PC should see your mobile.
If you still having problems, trying removing the unknown device from Device Manager.
1. Click start 2. Right click on My Computer 3. Go to Properties 4. Go to Device Manager 5. Check for a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark 6. Remove this device 7. Follow instructions above

I want to upgrade ma htc pro 2????can you please help me

  1. Go to Aadress
  2. Choose your Phone from list
  3. Download the upgrade
  4. Install it using USB cable connection with your computer (Windows mobile sync must be installed so your computer can regonize it.)
  5. How do I install Microsoft ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC)?

Insert the "Getting Started" CD that came with your device into your PC and follow the prompts.
Note: The disk will detect what operating system you have and what sync software you have loaded. If you already have ActiveSync installed on your PC, it will not give you an option to install it from the disk (same for WMDC) until it has been removed from your PC.

  6. The phone reboots after install.

  7. And done

Hi, the idea is this trying to activate sync with window 7 operating system. A windows 7 does not accept all kinds of applications or operation been done on it. it's selects a lot of programs.

The reason why there is no active sync might be because it is not compatible with your software format.

You can try it out with another operating system like windows xp etc.And see if it will sync with it.

Take care.

Everythings works fine except synchronization

1. Go to the settings.

2. From the options of Personal, System, & Connections, chose connections.

3. Tap on USB to PC icon.

4. Here lies the demon. There is a small box with lengthy explanation line (probably automatically ticked) which says "Enable faster data synchronization" you just need to uncheck it and tap on ok.

Now the activesync should start working.

HTC HD and MS Outlook Notes

Unfortunately, Notes are not available using Exchange ActiveSync, yet.

You have to tether your phone to a PC with Outlook and ActiveSync (XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista) installed.

Since mutiple ActiveSync partnerships are supported you can sync some things with Exchange and some with your PC.

If we are lucky Windows Mobile 7 and/or Exchange 2010 will make this possible.
