Sounds similar to the remote that came with my dish network vip-722. It took a bit of force to mine apart. There are tiny tabs along the side of the remote. I was able to force them up with a flat head screw driver.

How do I change batteries?

To whom it may concern,

Remove the back panel on the remote, remove the dead batteries and install new ones in the same orientation that you found the previous ones in. Your remote is now ready to go.

Best of luck

I cant find the code to my philips univ ersal remote control

it should be inside the remote, you'll need a phillip head screw driver, to pull it apart. Lift the back of the remote battery cover off to find the screw.

Took apart remote and little white tab fell off. how do i reposition it

artisyicnell,

Are you still having problems with your remote? If so, there is a tab at the bottom of the remote that send a signal to the receiver box. This tab slides in at the bottom of the remote. Removing the battery cover will give you access to the area where the tab snaps in. I hope this helps.

If none of the lights light up on the top of the remote when you press/release Select, check to make sure the batteries are placed correctly in the remote. If they are, you may need to readdress the remote to the receiver. I have provided instructions on how to program the remote to your receiver. I hope this helps.

I can only use my channel up and down buttons to navigate on my remote control. Why can't I just press 2 or 50 instead of going thru 2-001, 5-001, 002, 003, 7-001, 02 etc to get from 2 to 50?

Take the remote control apart, batteries out, pop apart, (any screws? - remove them.) Clean the rubber contact pad with mild dish soap and water, pat dry. Clean the circuit board with a soft towel and windex or equivalent. Clean the push button holes in the top cover with q-tips and windex. Reassemble, batteries back in. Test...Does this help?

DISH Remote burning through batteries!!

most likely there is a button on the remote that is stuck on. try moving all the buttons to see if they "feel" stuck. if not then take the remote apart and clean the contact pad bottoms and the surface of the board with rubbing alchohol. good luck!
