Question about Canon FAXPHONE L80 Laser

1 Answer

My Canon Faxphone L80 will receive but will not send.

Everytime I FAX a few pages, I always get an error message that the number I am sending to has a special access code that I must use. I am positive that all my potential recipients do not have a secret access code. Do y ou have a solution? Thanks.

Not able to receive Faxes from a Canon Faxphone L80

Describe 'Lots of noise'.....was it static? Or high pitched varying tones (also known as handshake) Normally the two beeps are after the 'handshake tones' which means that the fax is awaiting an answer from sending machine. If you don't mind, email me your fax number so that I can hear exactly what you are hearing. tswiercinsky@yahoo.com

Cannot receive faxes

Make sure that the telephone line from the wall is plugged into "LINE" and not "PHONE" on the fax machine. You might also call the fax number from a different phone to see if you can hear the fax tones.

It's not sending or receiving faxes, but line is working

Hi there,

May I know what exactly the model that you have?

Initially, first check the settings of the machine if it was set to tel/fax or fax settings. Check if there was an error message appear on the unit or better to print out a copy of the fax transmission status. Fax machine will print out a copy of the transmission if it has a problem or it has a communication error on the line or in the other side whose receiving the a fax.

Kindly update me again here.

When sending a fax on the faxphone L80 it pulls in duplicate page

There is a little rubber pad where original feed in. Look at it on edge and you'll see it has concave wear. Carefully remove black plastic hold down and flip rubber pad over. You'll have to make a new hole so it will lay flat.

Canon Faxphone L80 - Alan Silva

To send a fax you do not need to enter anything into your fax. You have to make sure that you connect the telephone line to it's desgnated connector. You dial a number to send as if you are calling form a normal phone. If you ever get a ringing tone press start. You can enter any data trough the data registration after you make sure your fax is functioning properly.

Most probably you have the machine set to "manual receive." Change the receive mode to "auto" or "Fax" mode.
