My tv has been loading the TV guide plus for over 24 hours and i am not able to get into the menu to attempt to stop it it just saying to turn it off while it is installing it. However i never initiated the tv guide to be installed.
When this has happened to me in the past; if I remember correctly I hit home, stop, cancel, etc any of those gets it to send me the banner that if I stop now......it is not going to CANCEL loading!!! I'm thinking YEAH!!! and then I select the prompt to cancel. I then hit menu again, to cancel and I believe I select home...Now perhaps you think I SOUND a bit "iffy" it would be true; seeing how it has been at least 3 months since it has happened and I sure not going to go and hit that ****** to walk you thru it(he he) sorry but I know you know how it is!!! GOOD LUCK DON'T GIVE UP AND DO YOUR BEST TO NEVER HIT THAT TVGUIDE+ AGAIN (i have many times and its always a pain in my brain) now get her done!

This is a quick reference guide to show you how to reset your Samsung DLP TV’s lamp hour meter or hour counter. Resetting the counter is a very simple procedure.
Begin with the TV powered off
Point your remote towards your TV
Press: Mute + 1 + 8 + 2 + Power
Your TV set should now say “Loading Factory”
Browse down to “Option” then press Enter (or the right cursor button)
NOTE: The Mute+1+8+2 buttons needs to be pressed down consecutively and fairly quickly. If your TV does not enter the service menu after using this combination, you can substitute MENU instead of MUTE. I think that’s a better way to do it.. Also, the right cursor arrow also acts as the ENTER button, so try it if you’re having difficulty with the ENTER button
To exit the service menu, hit press the EXIT button or just turn off your TV (remember not to turn on your TV immediately afterward!)
If the TV turn itself off then perform the following steps:
(i) Check if the Sleep timer is activated.
(ii) Check if the Parental Guide prohibits viewing during that time and/or limits amount of viewing time per day.
(iii) Check the batteries on your remote, low battery power may cause random signals from the remote.
(iv) Disconnect all the cables from the TV then reconnect them after a few hours.
(v) Ensure the power cord from the TV is directly connected to a functional wall outlet.
(vi) You may also try resetting the TV to the original factory settings by pressing the Reset button on the remote control supplied with the TV when in Menu.
The following is the information indicated by the blinking patter of the standby/timer lamp on the TV:
2 times : Power does not come on. Load on power line shorted.
3 times : The TV has entered standby mode.
4 times : Has entered standby state after horizontal raster. Vertical deflection pulse is stopped. Power line is shorted, or power supply is stopped.
5 times: No raster is generated. CRT Cathode current detection reference pulse output is small.
6 times: No picture
9 times : No sound
Furthermore, the TV is equipped with a self-diagnosis function that you can use to determine whether the issue is related to any hardware malfunctioning. Perform the step given below to run self diagnosis:
Quickly press the remote command button in the following order from the standby state.
Display -------> Channel 5 ---------> Volume -(minus) --------> Power ON.
If the Self Diagnosis display numeral "1" for any parameters then a fault has been detected and service will be required.

Simply enter 00000 for the zip code and complete the set up process; if you're in Canada, select the USA as your country and use the zip. However, you MUST complete the set up, including allowing the TV to search for appropriate code. In the long scheme of things, location and codes don't really matter because you won't see the GUIDE again.
