Question about Dell 3000cn Laser Printer

HELP!!!Toner cartridge jammed in school Dell 3000cn printer.

I would be immensely grateful if anyone can help me with this, this is a school printer and we can't really afford a new one!! We had been using non-Dell toner cartridges and it had got very mucky and messed up our Dell drum so we decided to order all Dell cartridges and replace all the non-Dell ones. So... after putting in a new drum I decided to take out all of the toner cartridges and give it a wipe as there was toner that had leaked all over the place. So with all the cartridges out and carefully wiped I slotted in the cyan cartridge, which went in fine, and proceeded to push down the locking device. This is when the problems began... the locking device was being very stiff and I must have pushed too hard as the whole cartridge in it's 'container' moved down and I then couldn't pull it back up or retrieve it. After trying really hard to get it back with no luck, I was unsure what to do so thought i'd close the door and hope there was some sort of righting mechanism, however it just continued around for a few cm in the wrong direction, meaning the cartridge was now out of sight, it didn't make any nasty sounds except for the toner cartridge locking mechanism catching somewhere inside jamming it. Then a solid beep came on with the error message.
Has anyone got any ideas what I can do?!? Is there a way of dismantling the printer in order to retrieve the toner cartridge? Are there any other ways to get to it?
I had put in a brand new drum cartridge, if the printer cannot be rescued is there a market for brand new but opened drum cartridges?
Many Thanks,

To rotate the carousel of the printer and not use the front panel do the following. Remove the drum; place it somewhere away from light. Leave the top open where you removed the drum. Close the front door. By closing the front door, you have depressed the locking mechanism that locks the carousel in place. Now using both your left and right hand and using even pressure, rotate the carousel (from the top of the printer) to the position where the toner is at. If the carousel makes any kind of clicking/grinding noise then it is still being affected by the locking mechanism, I would not suggest continuing. If you do not exert even pressure when rotating it this way, the carousel can become canted (twisted) and then would need to be replaced..

If you unplug the power cord and reconnect with the switch on, the carousel should stop where you need the toner.

Try ebay for selling toners.

What to do when toner is low

Remove the toner cartridge.
Gently "roll" it from side-to-side, to evenly distribute the toner. Do not "shake" it.

Eventually, you'll either need to buy a new toner-cartridge (either from Dell or via eBay) or find a store that refills ink-jet and ink-toner cartridges.

I think the following instructions are quite clear. In any case, before giving an inappropriate rating pleas contact us. Thanks for trying rating should be used only for unhelpful solutions and I do not think these here are the cases. Please follow the instructions from point six:

6 - Connect the printer to power and turn it on

7 - The toner cartridge carrier rotates and then stops. After confirming
the Insert Black Toner (K) message, open the front door.

8 - Hold the tape on the protective cover and gently pull it forward to
remove the cover from each cartridge slot. You only have to remove the
cover from each toner cartridge slot the first time you use your printer.
Toner will be present on the roller.

10 - Lift the tab up 90 degrees and pull the toner seal straight off, keeping it
parallel with the toner cartridge.

To insert the toner cartridge, face the label on the cartridge to the front
and align it with the arrows on the printer. Guide the cartridge until it
snaps into place and then push down the handhold to lock the cartridge
in place.

12 - Close the front door. The toner cartridge carrier rotates to the next
empty slot. When the color of the newly inserted cartridge appears on
the display, followed by the Insert message, insert the next toner
cartridge. Repeat steps 6-11 until all cartridges are installed.

Dell 3000cn Laser Printer Problem--Paper Jam

Have you been able to get the toner out yet?

There is a little handle on the right side that you need to lift to unlock the cartridge:

See if there is anything hiding in that part of the paper path. Maybe even just re-seating the cartridge will be enough for the sensors to stop tripping.

If they all have leaking, I would bet its the fuser causing the issue. It sounds like its not sealing the ink properly, thus it looks like its leaking.

Wrong cartridge 093-982 cyan toner unsupported

are you using a dell-branded toner cartridge? if yes, then you should replace the toner cartridge sensor and machine control unit (MCU). if no, you can enable the non-dell toner mode on your printer's operator panel. how? press menu, down until "configure" & press select; down until "maintenance" & press select; down until "non-dell toner" & press select; down until "on" & press select.

Changing Dell 3000cn printer cartridge

The instructions always come with the new cartridges and also are printed on the new cartridges. You move the right hand (colored) side up to unlock. Carefully pull the cartridge up and out (you can screw up the gears if you don't put the cartridges in and out straight. Make sure you've followed the instructions that come with the new toner cartridge (removing tape, shaking), put it in the same way and move the right hand side down to lock.

Replace toner message still displaying

Have you already tried powering the printer off/on to see if this would clear the error? If so, are you using a Dell branded toner? If not, this could be why the printer has not recognized the replacement. It could be you recieved a bum toner cartidge, although this does not happen often, it can still happen. If you take your old toner cartridge and put it back in the printer, does it recognize it? If so, perhaps it is the toner cartridge.

If it is a bum Dell toner cartridge, Dell carries a seperate warranty on toner, apart from the warranty on the printer. Call Dell laser printer tech support. They will need your order number for the toner and have the cartridge handy as they will need an identification number off of the cartridge.

Removing toner cartridge

When the toners go in, they are locked down using the colored part of the cartridge. This holds them in place for printing. However, sometimes even when unlocked they can be very difficult to remove.

After you are sure it is unlocked, do your best to wiggle the cartridge until it start to feel like it is coming loose, and you should be able to pull it out. Do not under any circumstances force it out, just take some time to loosten it up.
