Number 34 is the sensor strips located on the rear bulkhead inside the dryer. Clean them thoroughly with Windex or 409. Dryer sheets build a wax buffer on them sensors that moisture cannot penetrate. If no wetness is detected the control shuts her down thinking them clothes is did. Either that or you forgot to reconnect the sensor wire when puttin her back together Kimosabe.

Gas dryer will not heat up and will not stop going unless I turn timer to off.

Check the exhaust line. If it is clogged with lint the dryer will not heat hence your machine will stay running if the sensor indicates your clothes are wet. when you check the clogg start from the dryer all the way to termination point.

I think the moisture sensor is bad in my kenmore he4 electric dryer. It works well on timed dry but does not stay on when using the automatic settings. It is still heating fine, it just stops prematurely...

it is a problem with how you are loading the unit. you must use the same type and weight of clothes or the sensor will think the light items are dry and then shut the unit off.
try to do a load of all towels and see what happens on the automatic cycle. if it does well then you just need to sort your clothes better.
the sensor is just 2 metal strips and will never fail.

F51 MEANS BAD READING ON THE RPS SENSOR. COUPLE OF THINGS YOU NEED TO CHECK. IT'S A LITTLE COMPLCATED. IF YOU ARE A LITTLE MECHANICALLY INCLINE, I CAN WALK YOU THRU IT WITH WITH NO PROBLEM

Kenmore 11070702990 Gas Dryer - Timer does not work

If your dryer seems to run forever, it could be because of a clogged vent or internal ductwork. Your dryer may have an automatic cycle that turns off the dryer when the clothes are dry. It does this with a special thermostat or moisture-sensing system.

Normally, this is what happens during an automatic cycle:

  • The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a pre-set temperature--say 135 degrees.

  • When the dryer reaches the pre-set temperature, the thermostat tells the timer to begin advancing. (If there's a moisture sensor, the timer advances only if the moisture content of the clothing is low enough.)

  • The timer advances until the interior cools, then the thermostat tells the timer to stop advancing, and tells the dryer to start heating again.

This cycle continues until the clothes are dry. But…if the vent is clogged, the dryer may never reach the proper operating temperature, so it doesn't send the signal to the timer and the dryer continues to run indefinitely, even if the clothes are completely dry. To fix the problem, clean the vent and/or internal ductwork.

Dryer starts drying and thinks clothes are dry, but they aren't

Check the timer, and the sensor. Sounds like it is having a problem with the timer or sensor no noticing that the clothes are still wet. Please rate if satisfied. Thank you

There is a sensor bar usually two on the inside of the dryer either in the front where the lint trap is or in the back right corner u will have to take the machine apart to ensure that the wire is firmly connected to thsoe sensor bars that would be the first thing i would recommend u check symptoms are itruns for about ten minutes and cuts off and clothes are still damp but time cycle works fine.
