Re: Grinding noise on right side of refrig ceiling
Sounds like a relay in oyour adc(adaptive defrost control) is getting stuck causing the "chattering noise" you can replace the control easily for about $50.. the top cover pulld straight out and a few screrws hold the top panel up, to reveal the control box in upper right corner. turn off power before attempting lotsa wiresup there

More likely than not a 12 year old refrig. is not going to have a built in filter, they only have been in fairly recent refrigs. under say 7 years old. NOw the probable trouble with the icemaker is in this case going to be poor water pressure into the refrig. You can disconnect the water line from the house plumbing on the back of the ref. and check for pressure of incoming water, if it just trickles thats the problem and nothing wrong with the refrigerator, if the pressure is good the water valve the incoming water connects to needs to be replaced, IF water enters slowly the most likely trouble is the supply usesa clamp type valve that clamps over a cold water pipe,if that is the case that peircing type clamp on valve needs to be replaced.
according to the model number that you gave this particular unit does not have a filter built into it. most amana bottom freezers ahve the filter located in the refrig section on the ceiling. there is a thumb latch you push in and a cover lets down to expose the filter. then turn 1/4 turn counterlokwise to remove. if this doesnt sound right post back wiht a complete model number from the refrig and I will take another look for you. thanks for using FixYa peyton
there are a few places to look for most frigidaire side by sides the model and serial number are on a tag either on the right hand inside wall of the refrig section or on the ceiling in the refrig section. on some older models though the tag may be behind the crisper drawers at the bottom. hope that helps. peyton
are you looking for a replacement filter for your refrig or looking to locate its whereabouts in refrig???? 11 years ago its possible, sorry very probable that a water filter did not come equipped with refrigs.if so it would be in top right corner mounted on ceiling insider refrig.
