Sounds like the cathode tubes are going bad. better to replace the tv as there are 3 tubes and they are about 350 dollars a piece.
and they are hard to find.

hope this helps.
best of luck.

By a can of Freon or freezemist from an electonc Repair supplier and spray items when it goes out to see if it will come back on. You have a heat sensitive part going bad. Note, condensation will cause it to not work at all so be very frugal when spraying and dry it with a hairdryer.

I sympathize with you, however the freon is quick and will pinpoint your bad part. Replacing it is another story. . There are times that myself, with my extensive television and power supply background cannot effectively repair a circuit board because of parts and other factors.

    good luck,

Hi,

Is your TV pushed back against a wall or covered up? Sounds like the TV is over heating and its shutting off. Dust inside the TV can also cause this too. Buy a can of compressed air and blow out the inside of the TV and move it out from the wall where the vent can get some air flow. If its by a heat vent move it away from there too.

Hi there.
It sounds like the TV is going into protect mode, this is so no more damage can be caused to the TV.
Have a look at the PB (power board) for any swollen or blown capacitors, resistors and semiconductors, any one of these components could be causing the TV to go into protect mode.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

There is some protection circuit that is being kicked after 15 minutes are so working. Might be resistor is devalued or zener diode is leaky.

Overheating? powersupply might be having problems or components failing. I would suggest having someone look at the powersupply. as there are deadly voltages inside.

Check whether the fuse around the power supply board is good .
If it is blown replace it .
The circuit is going to protection mode after 15 minutes check the input power supply is proper.
A high voltage might have damaged the power supply board . You need to test the power supply board .
