Question...do you have or can you get an OS/ CD...system designed to automatically re-install OS if put into CD Rom then when "door"closes
imidiately turn off power...wait a few seconds then push power button.
The system may re-install the OS this way...yes you proably will loose all stored files and have to re-install any aftermarket(add-on)programs
including Yahoo connections(you will not loose your bookmarks as they are stored by Yahoo)
No this solution does not always work....

My emachine does not load any dvd rom disc's it will read a cd rom disc but will not recognize the dvd's.model # w3107 2006 year

more then likely the DVD laser part of the drive has burned out, i have nearly the same model and had to replace mine a couple years ago!! This is a classic situation, the CDROM laser is still functional, but DVD is inop!!! New DVD-RW Drives about $20 on www.NewEgg.com and even cheaper on www.eBay.com for a decent DVD-ROM model!!! Easy fix too, just make sure you get the IDE style, or make even faster with SATA, if you have a SATA available on your system!!

How can I reset my emachine w3653 to factory setting? Unfortunately, I forgot my password. help

Hi! Normally the emachine came with an eRecovery Disk that you can use to restore the PC back to factory settings. To do that follow this steps:
  1. Press F2 to enter BIOS Setup during Power-On Self-Test (POST while the eMachines logo is being displayed).
  2. Using the keyboard arrow keys, arrow over to Boot.
  3. Refer to on screen instructions to set the first device to CDROM.
  4. Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the System CD.
  5. Close the CD-ROM tray.
  6. Press "F10", then press "Enter" to save the changes and reboot the system.
  7. The computer will boot from the eMachines Recovery Media, follow the prompts to reinstall the operating system.

Monitor went flashing. Won't boot. Says missing

You need to repair your windows system files.
for that insert windows disk or recovery disk into cd /dvd rom then when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or del or ALT+F2 key to enter in bios then you can see bios configuration page then go to boot menu and set first boot device as cd/dvd rom then save settings and exit from bios .
then it boot with disk follow the procedure on screen then first choose recovery console then type in console "chkdsk /r" it fix and recovers error on harddrive.
Then restart computer then again boot and this time choose R for "Repair previous windows" then it repair it then you can use your windows again.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Emachine T4060 -black screen-no cd-rom boot

Hi,
If it is DVD Drive, then sometimes in BIOS you'll also find the option for DVD Drive together with CD Drive. Choose the correct one and boot your PC.
Please come back and vote for me, if this turns to be helpful for you. Thnx

No screen

MOST likely the monitor is bad if you don't hear any beeps when booting up.

If you unplug the monitor the screen should say NO SIGNAL

I have a EMachine T6534 which won't start. I shut

I agree...sounds like a power supply problem. Typically a bad power supply will not damage the motherboard. It should still be functional.

Emachine reboot problem

First of all remove ant cd from drive when booting up uinless you are using a bootable windows disk. if the problem still persist when then computer starts booting up keep pressing f8 until you get the choice to go in to safe mode. Once in safe mode choose the option when prompted go to system restore points and restore the computer to a date availabe wich is before the date of the problems.

Emachine T1100 Operating System

Sounds to me like windows is corrupted. If you have the Windows operating system cd then go into the BIOS and set the first boot device to be the cd-rom. After you do that then put the cd in the cd-rom and then reboot the machine and it should tell you to press any key to boot the cd and it will go into the installation for you and you just follow the prompts from that point.

No start up , button lites up - cd-rom wont open , noticed no fans on for 3d card or big one on mother board

If the cpu/heatsink fan isn't turning then most pc's will shut down to avoid further damage to cpu & board. I would first replace the fan if it's the one over your cpu. Try replacing power supply. If your board has the 4 pin plug, you must have that plugged in. But keep in mind if that fan isn't running a new power supply isn't going to make it start working. You have to have that fan working. Then go from there. If once it is working & other devices like video and/or roms aren't, check your memory. The best way to troubleshoot devices are to plug one at a time in and power up until the problem starts. Hopefully you won't have to go to that step.

My pc was doing this but now it's doing something different but simular

Try telling it to boot the CD instead of the disk for now, since you need to install from that...or perhaps a newer OS.
