Check the device manager.

There are probably a lot of drivers missing.

They're all HERE.

Hope this helps, please don't forge to rate my solution, FixYa

Thanks!

Have you installed the sound drivers? Maybe you have the wrong drivers installed. Another common problem is when your sound device uses the bluetooth drivers instead sound drivers.

try going to dell.com and click down below at drivers and software

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Sound card for dell inspiron 1750 on Windows XP

Download sisandra free which gives you every detail about whats on your pc including the soundcard name and lots more then go to driverguide.com register free and get your driver. If you downgraded from vista to xp then you need to uninstall the windows "HD uaa bus driver", a long story but easy to do.This removes the driver permenently locked to the soundcard which wont work in xp but if uninstalled allows a normal driver for your card to work so eg:ac97 sound card, download the xp version as you have downgraded and if you go back to vista the operating system will reinstall the HD driver.Simple if you know.

I have no sound after reinstalling windows xp i have tried reinstalling drivers

Go to the Axis web site and search your system and look for Drivers and Downloads. If that wont work... under your PC Specs it should tell you the Sound Card Manufacture... run a search for that driver on Google. XP has issues with PnP on Sound Cards...

After reinstalling my sound did not effect.

Re-Install the drivers from the system disk that came with your computer. If no disk, go to the website and download the drivers for your model computer.

Trying to reinstall windows xp and not letting me

do you have a XP installation disc? do you have a valid product number? (sometimes the product number is located on a sticker, depends if you brought the PC ready made)

Lastly how many times have you reinstalled the OS? if you have a OEM product code I think the limit of reinstalling the OS is 5 times, after then you have to speak to MS. although you have to have to reach the activate windows screen before this becomes an issue.

Sound card

That was a dodgy job,
the licence for windows XP installed by this guy is not genuine and can get you in troubles with Windows updates.
If you have a valid Windows XP licence (check the sticker at the base of your laptop), you should reinstall XP home using the licence number on the sticker.
If you do not have a licence, well I cannot talk here...

Regarding the sound, that is not a big problem, you just need to download and reinstall the drivers for your laptop.

Post a new question on Fixya, giving details on your laptop make and model, you will get the link to download for drivers.

I will be offline for the following few hours.

Don't forget to rate the solution appropriately.

Thanks
