Question about TruTech PM1919BXA1 19 in. LCD TV

1 Answer

Hi! I posted a few days ago about my elderly neighbors TV being disconnected from Dish and now she gets no signal on all channels. She has a TruTech Model (from back of TV) 008-09-0119. I disconnected the cable box and reconnected her antenna to the back of the TV. I did numerous channel scans. First, local channel Fox 2 was the only channel it recognized, but still no signal. After more scans, channel 2 went away and we got local 30 for a while in clear view. Now, she gets nothing, again. Someone mentioned with a response to my last post about ANT1 and ANT2 maybe being switched with the Dish install, but I have not found any options to change this. If anyone can help me further, I would appreciate it very much. She just called me again and is going crazy without the company of her TV! Thanks so much for your trouble! Marie

Wow, you are awesome, but I guess you already knew that. We are in 63114 and the antenna I hooked up is the one that is mounted to her roof. The original one I connected when I set her TV up a few months ago with no problems. Everything looks as if it should work properly. I was just up there a bit ago looking at it and she said, after talking to a friend of hers that having the satellite still mounted to her roof (not hang it removed yet) may be interfering with the reception. I told her not to panic, as she gets mislead every time someone suggests something. The service is disconnected and the satellite wiring is disconnected as well. I am totally confused here. Please help if you can, I sure appreciate your knowledge and assistance!

What kind of antenna is she using? If she is using an Over The Air antenna that was supplied by Dish it would be best to buy another type of antenna.
Please post back with her antenna type and the zip code you live in so I can help you further.

In the St Louis metro area you should receive at least 6 digital channels and many other analog channels.

We need to check a couple of thing:

    1. From the menu check and make sure the Tuning band is set to Antenna or Air and not to Cable. Rescan if changed.

    2. Check to make sure the cable connected to the TV is connected to the antenna and not to the dish.
The problem probably lies with the installation of the satellite, if you happen to have a set of rabbit ears connect them and place close to a window and see if you can pick up any stations.

I will not be able to respond again until after 11pm cst but stick with it we will get her tv going.

Dish network Blue screen No "Signal

Hi john harrison!

A blue screen with "No Signal" is usually related to a video problem. The TV may be getting changed off the correct input/channel, or the video cable might be going bad.

If you have a spare, I would recommend a different cable and seeing if that fixes the problem. If it continues, verify the input/channel your TV is on when it receives a picture and if it goes out try putting it back on that input/channel.

If problems still continue I would be happy to review additional options with you. You can reach me here or at thomas.faust@dish.com

I disconnected my dish network reciever for 2 months and now that i connected it again i have no signal, and in dish network they tell me my account is perfect

Hi mendezjuanmy name is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I was going over your post thereare some steps I can give you to do through here. You will want to make surethe TV is set to channel three unless you are running through an input of theTV. The next thing you will want to do is unplug the receiver for 10 secondsand it will power up by itself and acquire the signal and download the programguide, after the guide downloads you will get your programming. I will leaveyou my e-mail if you have any further questions. Michael.houston@dishnetwork.com

Some channel no sound

Hello Blwas5 hi, If some channels have sound and others none, its either the TV has poor reception or, its the channel's weak signal. check them both or see if your neighbors TV acts like yours. If thy neighbor reception is good, then thy TV has poor reception, you can't do anything to fix that. get another TV with good reception qualities.

17 in. trutech tv unable to get channels except 2-13

For channel setup you will need to;
1) Connect the signal source to the back of the set.(Antenna or Cable)
2) Go into the TV Menu and select the same signal source you connected to the back.(Antenna or Cable)
3) Go to the auto program/scan menu and run it. This may take a few minutes.

Now the channels may be watched.

Cant get sound from some of the channels!

Try locationg the "Play Seconday Audio" option in settings and change it either from YES to NO or NO to YES. An elderly friend of mine had the same problem and that solved it. He uses Time Warner Cable, not sure what you are using, but it is worth the try.

No channels showing

If you are using Direct TV or Dish Network call their tech support.
If you are on cable TV, call for a service man.
I would say that your TV has lost its sync separater chip and it shouldn't cost more than $60 dollars to fix, if the repair guy is honest. It's a 30 minute job.
